most fighting games don't support them.

Left one works with movement if you use a pelican(not sure about other converters).  I haven't tested the right one at all.

Funny thing, in the ps2 version you could set L3/R3(Pressing the analog sticks in) as button presses, but you couldn't actually use the directions on them. ::)

Yes, if using a RadioShack converter. I was bored one day and decided to play around with it.

about keyboard being troublesome to set up

Is it possible to use caster's debug mode to play? It's a lot easier to set key on caster (just cut and paste the keycodes to config_caster.ini)
