ACTLESS ARCANE!!

yeah, i was hype when i saw the screen shots.....then i took notice to the guard bars.....and the guard crushing.... :-\
guard meter? For this game? That really doesn't sound like a good idea to me atm but who knows, maybe there will be some system mechanics incorporated that will even things out and make me less furious (perhaps this will encourage more use of, omgosh, shield bunkers  :mystery:).

And uhhhh "grooves"? when was the last time grooves did something good for a fighter LOLOLOL.  :fap:
New system mechs are making me kinda nervous. MB is a pretty solid game overall and I would hate to see it goto hell cus they decide to toss in some not-so-original ideas.

Hey Arly, any chance you can hype up MB:AA on the main pg?  >:( <--- hype face

Also, new Blue art is sexy.  :fap:

zar are you even aware that your attitude is what drove people off in the first place. i think zar's attitude is worse than all of that. cause neither of you guys mean anything. but zar can poison shit around him. zar's the one that gets personal online and does realtalk that's out of line.

Ries looks fucking awesome, but christ I really, REALLY hope they didn't take out individual maids, I'd be fucking devestated, seriously I'm not learning maids, and worst case scenario I'll pick up Ries, but damn, still mad depressing.
My thoughts exactly, I hate playing as the combo. I like my Kohaku single.

Anyways, the guard crush seems like a nice addition I guess. The people I play against love turtle time, so that should force them out.

Turtling is really playing keep away. If you're just 'turtling' by blocking in the corner, you're going to make a mistake on guessing high/low blocks eventually.

lol yeah, especially since American players can't block right to save their lives. x_X

Yeah I'm kinda worried about the guard meter too. It could mean characters with multi-hit attacks and supers might break the guard meter with ease since there are various C attackss that hit up to 3 times or more and a lot of EXes reach 10-20+ hits easily. I also wonder if they'll add throw breaks. I didn't like the concept at first but it makes sense because in the event that both characters attempt a ground/air throw, the game feels like it randomly decides who wins out.

It's usually the keep away sort of tactic. Chaos/Tatari and using mainly the longer reach attacks, then when you actually do get block time!

It's all fun, but hopefully this guard break kinda lessens the whole thing.

Yes, but if you get those two characters in situations where they're forced to block, eventually you're going to mess them up, regardless of of the lack of block meter. Sure, they have ways to get out, but the odds are still not in their favor.

OH YES ITS REEZE BAIFE! YAY!

Also I'm sure some people are going to be worried about Guard Crushes. Its going to worry me since I don't really like guard meters at all. :/

And for those of you who have terrible eyes:

First Row: Aoko, Shiki Tohno, Shiki Nanaya, Kouma
Second Row: Miyako, Ciel, Normal Sion, Reeze Baife, Vsion, Warakia, Roa
Third Row: HiKo, Akiha Normal, Arcueid, Warc, Vakiha, Mech Hisui
Fourth Row: Sacchin, Len, Wlen, Nero

<Graven> When you are Ciel, don't try to win, don't even try to do anything. The more you do, the stupider and bigger faggot you become because you're using Ciel.

Well the guard meter may be a good or a bad thing depending on how quickly it drains and how quickly it regenerates(if at all).

It also may be done similar to IAMP where guards that are done at the wrong height(blocking mid attacks low for example) cause additional guard damage.

Seems like Nero would have a field day on guard meter raping though.

Personally I've been looking forward to seeing Riesbyfe Stridberg for a long time in game, nice to finally see her get some screen time as something other than VSion's last arc.

Also with the addition of a guard meter it's possible theyre adding Just Defends into the game to reduce or negate guard damage.  Or not, who knows.

.....It could also be a gg style guard meter without guard breaks. Since we know MB loves to rip off gg.

In all honesty, MB should rip off GG more. Though this may be a witty sarcasm that I am just not catching.

Yesss, go on, include RCs and a burst gauge. *_* And then add specials that only have a FEW frames of invincibility. Then include the auto turn around in air while falling down.
I will pwn you as according to my calculation.

Roa can be seen guard breaking Ciel in one of the screenshots. It's definitely in.

While we're at it, let's get them to incorporate Faultless Defense in MB.

Then they can add False Roman Cancels and Roman Cancels. Hell, they can just rename it to Guilty Gear while they're at it  >:D

chip death isnt in MB anyway(and most attacks dont even deal chip damage) so its not like FD would help with much except air blocking air unblockables.  Which would just screw over certain characters anyway(cough nero cough kouma).  And we have whiff canceling so we don't really need roman canceling since unlike GG every normal is cancelable into every other normal on block or hit except some command normals.  All we'd benefit would be canceling whiffed moves which would probably make pressure strings far too safe if it was on moves that would benefit from it, or canceling EX moves(which in most cases the point of them is to be unsafe on block since they often have high clash or inv frames).

... This almost makes me want to yell at my parents to let me stay in Taiwan for college. Or maybe I can ask for two thousand for a graduation present. Screw the port. I need this on release date.

On that note, how does patching work, on an arcade cabinet? I know that Ecole sent out a free Ver. B board to everyone who owned a Ver. A one, but what about the little tweaks and stuff?

Oh yeah, and I'm in the process of raster-ing these and putting them on my door. Wheeeeeeee~

And it's definitely Guard Crash. You can see a u and an a in Guard, and the two "u"s look nothing alike-- heck, at the bottom of the page, the article says 「Guard Crash!!」 in English.

In the text below the new moves, starting from the very end of the first paragraph, it says "Sion's sliding, Aozaki Aoko's kick, Nanaya Shiki Intention ((blurry)), Kishima Kouma Crimson Scrape, Warakia's Night [ni mo] Path Extension ((?)) [sareteiru tokoro] can be seen." Aoko's almost-5C kick is actually different ((5C comes from Aoko's back leg, while this one goes from her front)), and apparently Nanaya's doing some new move, even though I couldn't tell just by looking.

And the church stage looks coooooool. >.> Another blue stage for stealth-camo Ciel, though.

Also, the article mentions a "Beat Edge..."

I'm going to try to embed a translation, since my brain is all over the place now.
