I think Komidol doesn't want Ecole/Frenchbread to get the idea we're stupid and/or clueless about what we're talking about, which could potentially happen if stupid buffs/nerfs get requested.
That's a part of it but my primary line of thinking behind it was this:
Someone said in a round table meeting at Ecole that "Don't you think it would be fun if there was a way to combo off raw airthrow? That would be something that would give all the players something new to learn, give a lot of characters more to work with, and change the dynamics of the game a bit to make it more fun."
I was thinking those sort of engine changes might be considered or features we would like to see added, this is a chance to have it brought up at that meeting. This is a real chance to make a serious change in the game!
Maybe they really have no idea that we even exist? They literally had no idea anyone would play the game outside of Japan prior to Evolution 2010; their initial response to MrWizard's request for sponsorship was one of confusion and befuddlement.
And Evo aside we're still pretty sure they're ignorant to an untapped market. That's why we're doing this!
EVO was a high point, but we want them to know we've been doing this for years! It's also a real shot at localization consideration to grow the scene. Let's all pull this together, if you have any work bring it out now, in the next day or so.
