X-Arcade Stick, a few questions.
« on: April 21, 2009, 10:42:21 PM »
Hello y'all. This topic is just for the purpose of opinions for or against said stick (X-Arcade Dual Joystick to be precise) I bought one and I'm liking the way it's been treating me so far. (although the PS2 > PS3 converter it came with is another story, good thing I have a pelican ;D) What are your opinions on this stick if you've ever encountered it? I realize I should asked around before I bought it but it's been in my mind for awhile and I just had to find out what you guys thought. XD

Happy your having a good time with it, as I've only ever heard people talk about how it's one of the worst stick's they've ever used.  :psyduck:

Worst stick they've ever used?? Wow, that sounds terrible. What kind of problems were they having with it?

Dunno, I don't really read into them, as I would rather build my own stick (waiting on the last part to arrive in the mail to complete it), but I've heard that it only used mediocre parts and response rate isn't to good. I just see alot of people recommending that you don't buy them, they could be completely wrong for all I know  :psyduck:

Been looking around for info and ive also heard of some ppl claiming input lag while others not, also apparently there were newer versions of the cabs released or something? (maybe slightly better parts?)  :mystery: for everything good i see a bad and vice versa so I suppose ill just leave it as "well, i bought it so im using it for now" kinda thing *nod* thanks for the feedback though llama  :D

i've owned one, worst $149 i ever spent.

the lag is caused by the converters it comes with to work on console games, when it goes from PC to DC or PS2 or etc. if youre using it solely on your PC, they you wont experience any lag.

its overly expensive as a stick with cloned parts: the stick is a cloned Ultimate Stick, and cloned Happ buttons. They're just "okay" but like i said before, overpriced for non-genuine parts.

if you really wanted american style sticks, i'd trust http://www.massystems.com/ProStick.html
if you want to go japanese stick route: Hori Real Arcade Pro series, Madcatz TE. Id even recommend the new 2nd batch Madcatz SE sticks.

This.

If you don't want to spend so much, the Hori Fighting Stick 3 isn't that bad of a choice either.

given the amount of busted MAS sticks I've seen (mainly with locals), that miiiight not be too good of an investment either.

but whatever works for you is what matters, if you don't have a problem with your current one, no need to go out and rush to buy another.
