Rawr, I'm pretty much a newb in this game but someone happened to find my practice video and sent a message. So yea, on which IRC channel are you guys hanging in exactly? It would be interesting to talk about gameplay stuff and such.

Thanks Magz. Before I started AC, I actually watched your match videos for inspiration. I'm sure my friend will be a good practice opponent :p

Wow, I didn't expect that I understood the concept that fast. I followed the instructions on tiger kneeing and now I can do air ribbons almost instantly just by doing a half circle from down to up and pressing attack button. This is really cool : D

Thanks mates, I will probably have more questions as I discover new things so be patient with me. :p

Hm yea. I'm still having some problems with the aerial part of BnBs. Do you actually just mash buttons since everything has to be pretty precise with the double jumping and airdashing or would it be better to learn the exact timing for each input so you can just pull the entire combo without pressing the buttons more than needed?

Also, could explain me what TK ribbons and hit confirming is exactly about? I'm still not familiar with all the terms. D:

I haven't played MB:AC for very long. I'm using a PS1 controller and I've just played the game for fun without really thinking of any tactics other than basic combos. Akiha Vermillion's playstyle appeals to me and I was thinking. There are plenty of guides and strategy discussions but what would be the best place to start? Like what kind of aspects should I first try and master and so on.

Ah, excellent. This should be helpful. I'm assuming many people use the standard config.

I haven't been playing Act Cadenza much yet and I recently got myself an adapter so I can use my PS controller. I'm still struggling with basic gameplay like BnB combos and the aerial part is obviously hardest thing for me. Doing stuff like j.b > j.c > j.b > j.c > Airthrow is pretty hard for me atm.

So I'd be interested in your controller setups that you like to use. I could try them myself and see if they work for me and make stuff a bit easier. :p

I managed to pull it off twice with my directional pad. I'm not quite sure how I did it but it was like, From back to front half circle, then from front to back, then from back to front.

I just recently got my PS controller adapter and it's pretty cool. I don't use analog stick though because I find pretty hard to defend and dash around with it. You can easily do half and quarter circles with the directional pad. Btw, how the hell do you perform Kohaku's Drug-on Install? The instructions for it are just weird. Pretty much impossible to do with the pad and the stick doesn't help either.

Most likely I'll get the PS2 adapter then, I've been playing with PS1 for ages and I regularly duel my friend in Soul Calibur II PS2 version.

This must be what you are talking about right:

And that goes into PC also?

Melty Blood Auditorium / Good controllers?

I recently got Melty Blood on my PC and I have to say, it's really neat. Practically my first 2D fighter after Street Fighter 2 xD
So, I was thinking of getting a good controller to I could executing combos would be easier. Keyboard has it's limitations unfortunately. So, do you guys know any good PC controllers for this game?

EDIT: Since I've heard that many people prefer a stick instead of pad, feel free to mention the names so I can look them up.
