So what is this infinite blockstring thing you guys keep talking about?  I'm just trying to figure out what works for resetting pressure with Miyako.

5B 5C 5A

Sounds hard.

if you do the 5bb 214a into knife loop in the corner, it's actually counter-productive to do the loop more than once. if you go straight into the ender after one it does 5.23k.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egPYE2_q9ng a little blockstring i made now that its a little harder to get through the guard meter

If it isn't too much trouble could I get the full notation for the guard crush string?

I can't remember exactly what he's doing in that video but the version I do is:

2A 5B 2B 5C 2C 22A > 5B 2B 5C 2C 3C 22X > [5B 2B 5C 63214A > 2A 5B 2B 5C 2C 3C 22X >]

> is where the frametraps are.  You should be able to beat a jab but you'll lose to a DP or a shield so don't get too autopilot with it.

Well here's your answer: 2B.  And a few other different variations on other characters.  And look at all that meter she's building...

Yeah, you're right, that's a hundred times easier.  Someone should put it on the wiki.

Ugh why is it so hard to do 2A 2C on half the cast?  Even when I delay the 2A to hit as low as possible the 2C still whiffs 95% of the time.

I think it's not so much that her startups are slow but that the hitboxes suck.  If you look at any of her B moves in framedisplay the startup periods are pretty much just walls of green.  That means that you're running the risk of getting CH'd whenever you press a button even if otherwise they have nothing that would even reach you.  Her j.6C is better for air spacing but you can't really follow it up.

Also Ries does stupid damage with or without loops.

My problem seems to be linking the 2A after picking up the knife, I can't seem to catch them before they're already on the ground.

I usually get that when I cancel 3C too late.  I find the easiest way to do is just to do 2C 3C2[2] (3C hits) A, delay, A without letting go of 2.  That prevents you from throwing the knife again too.

I actually think the hardest part is getting it so 2C hits after 2A.  Doing 2C 3C 623B once before starting the loop helps since it increases gravity but that also makes it kind of hard to link the 2C after.

I like how I'm not even in last even though I just straight lost all my games.  Good shit brackets.

At least now I know F-Ries charged pile is an overhead now.  Won't fall for that shit again Comic.  JUST YOU WAIT.

It's not even that hard without gravity.  It's just that after a few reps you can literally just mash without even looking at the screen and the timing will still work.

Hit the 5A lower or after you've built more gravity.  1.2 doesn't change anything gameplay-wise.

I may come to this but my laptop is too shitty to handle Melty.  I may be able to get a friend who may be coming for BB to bring his.

After a while the veterans get sick of playing noobs, especially the same noob over and over again.  Random would help mix it up a bit, at least a little.

But hey, if you're up for a bit of combo practice against a large moving target, I'm always up for a old-school matchup.  Too bad it isn't always available, though.

That would be too annoying with lag and stuff. You'd end up connecting to delay 5+ half the time. Just join a damn IRC channel, there's plenty. Hamachi is garbage. Alternatively camp /jp/ for the daily MB thread if you want to play scrubs.

True, but the last time I played a guy on IRC he ran an endless Sion blockstring on me.  I've played this game, like, a dozen times total against other players.  I'm not on that level yet.

Plus, 4chan is down again.

If I'm not mistaken, such a feature is already technically implimented. A dedicated Matchmaker IP could be set up, that you could connect to via standby, and by introduced to another player who also wishes to fight a random person. The problem is that there is no dedicated IP for matchmaking (that I know of).

That was my thought.  I don't know how much stress it'd put on the dedicated IP, though.

Any plans to implement something like this in future versions of Caster?  I'm a huge fan of this game but don't get much online play because of the hassle of searching Hamachi groups and IMing a load of people for games.  If there were random matchups (or an online lobby, although that's less feasible), it might help revive online a bit.

so there is a site where everyone gathers up to play eachother?

It'd be nice if someday they implemented an online lobby or random match-up feature, but at the moment your best bet is either Hamachi groups or IRC.

I could be wrong, but doesn't Hamachi turn all of your IPs into dynamic ones?

Incidentally, I've tried doing tigerkicks with a few characters, but I keep superjumping.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a trick to it?

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between a shield and a shield bunker?

In the event that I choose to create a server, what do I need?  Do I just create a network and leave it or are there other things that need to be done?

Kohaku's drug super is just a half-circle with a single button press at the beginning and the end, and I'd think it'd be easier to TK moves with the keyboard, not harder.
