Tournaments and Events / EVO 2K11 - July 29-31
« on: January 27, 2011, 08:02:21 PM »
At the Rio this time around, book early for cheaper rooms.

Tournament titles this year include:

Marvel vs Capcom 3
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Super Street Fighter IV
Mortal Kombat 9
Tekken 6

Just posting since I didn't see an Evo listing yet on the tournament boards.

Shin here is, of course, going as always and looking for anyone interested in rooming. The room I will be getting will be a 1-bed non-smoking with plenty of time for casual gaming. I am entering in CS and none of the others.

Akiha's Tea Room / Asking for assistance
« on: April 20, 2010, 01:44:59 AM »
Okay, I'm writing this thread to confirm something.

My computer automatically updated itself with the latest Windows 7 update. Works good, nothing seems out of the ordinary.

For some wtf reason...I cannot write in Japanese on my computer now, nor can I read anything in Japanese THAT IS LOCATED ON MY HARDDISK. I can write fine in Japanese online though for some reason...大丈夫。わかりました?Anything written in Japanese on the computer turns out as a bunch of boxes.

Anyway, I believe this is due to the update since I was working on translations last night and my computer updated while at work. If you guys have anything with Japanese characters in the naming, and I know a lot of you weaboos out there do, or type in Japanese and have Windows 7, can you please double check this for me? Just making sure I'm not going crazy with this and I someone fuxxored my computer.

I can tell what stuff is if I copy-pasta whatever I highlight to a text box on any web page though...Seriously annoying...getting no work done at all tonight... :emo:

ADD: This really sucks since now I have no idea what songs are what on my playlist without listening to each of them...

The racial jokes have begun.

Akiha's Tea Room / Which is better
« on: October 20, 2009, 04:04:37 AM »
Topic title says it all.

I am looking to pick up and play one of the Touhou fighters...I have both with the latest patches. I heard that IaMP is the more 'broken' of the two with unbalanced characters, but the play style of IaMP seems to fit my liking a bit more than the range heavy SWR. I would much rather play the better of the two games, the one that I wont be abandoning any time soon. Additionally, IaMP seems a lot more simpler and a pick up and go type of game rather than SWR where you have your spell card decks...that I still don't really understand yet. Any suggestions? Nobody where I am at plays either and it is highly likely that I will be introducing ppl to these two games in the near future when I start getting better and understanding them.

Akiha's Tea Room / THIS CHAIR...? random stuff to talk about
« on: September 19, 2009, 09:26:13 PM »
So, just to make random talk because the board here is kinda dead.

I was chasing my dog around the house earlier and kicked one of the stupid chairs (actually it was the bench to my piano) hurt.

I didn't kick the chair again, but I have done this in the past. Looking back at it like this makes me lol.

In other news, life is boring...oh and it's Talk Like a Pirate Day. Arr... :toot:

Anything else interesting out there to talk about and kill some time?

Akiha's Tea Room / Evangelion movie remake
« on: September 04, 2009, 09:41:49 PM »
I'm sure you guys (the cool ones anyway) have heard about the Evangelion movies being remade and everything.

I just watched the second one, very good movie. Epic fights and everything.

Evangelion has always been one of my favorite anime series (except for the mind raping final dvd...which to me, doesn't really exist) and these movies are doing a DAMN GOOD JOB of making this a good movie.

The movies are set of 4, the first 2 have already hit theaters with movies 3 and 4 getting simultaneous releases...whenever that is supposed to be.

WTF asuka?!

Akiha's Tea Room / I can't sleep
« on: August 13, 2009, 05:48:39 PM »
So, I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping nowadays. I am pretty sure I know the reason too. Just recently, I began watching the anime Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Now, normally when I watch an anime, I am able to watch it until like 4am then sleep till 8am. Now I can't really sleep till 6am-7am then I have to wake up at 8am. This is a crazy creepy series. It's like the Ring, except not. Oyashiro-sama has your soul.

Akiha's Tea Room / Am I missing something here?
« on: August 01, 2009, 01:32:38 AM »
Ok, just want someone else to double check this because this is bugging there really no order button for this??!!! I know it's not out yet but I want to make sure I get this at retail value and not eBay value.

I don't want to have to go through the hassle of figuring out how to get CompAce to send me a copy out here in the States.

I came with much anticipation for this game.

The alternate outfits for the characters are very appealing too.
Much love for Morrigan + bartending outfit
Felicia + nun outfit reminds me of Ciel.

Now I have a need to buy a PS3

Akiha's Tea Room / F/HA question
« on: April 16, 2009, 06:21:22 PM »
F/HA runs on TVP Kirikiri...anyone know how I can edit the text on there to make an actual English translation for the game? I've got most of the translation complete and just need to actually get some way to edit the format

edit: I normally would wait for the guys at Beast's Lair to finish this, but they said they would start on it sometime in 2007. No new news from them in forever, and I finished translating about 25% in 2 months...why wait?

Akiha's Tea Room / Tsukihime 2 eng release from Mirror Moon
« on: April 01, 2009, 06:48:05 PM »
The guys at mirrormoon are working hard once again. The long awaited Tsukihime 2...who knew they were working on it in the dark  :slowpoke:

 :teach: :teach: :teach: :teach:
April Fools from the Mirror Moon guys. Don't reveal the joke, lets see how many people bite

It's loading fine without checking my Tsuki 2 files. Download the game from their eng patch mirror directly, seems to be working fine.

NetPlay Community / Let's get some matches going
« on: August 19, 2008, 03:51:19 PM »
All these Hamachi channels are always filled with offline people.

Is there anyone around that would like to get a game going? Send a tell as to what server / password and time (PST / EST) that you would want to play. I'm normally on around 10pm PST but on days off, like today and tomorrow, I should be around all day.
