Burnt Toast III

When:  Sat. Oct 23rd

Games: BBCS
                GGAC
                MB:AA
                Naruto: CoNR3
                TVC: UAS

$3 Venue fee
$5 entry fee for each game
Payout is 70/20/10
Any game that has 15 or less participants will be 80/20
(Venue fee is for all people who plan to play games, if you don’t intend to play in a tourney but plan to casual all day you will be asked to pay venue. If you plan to just come and watch then no need to pay.)

Setup will begin at 10am so come down to casual until the start of the tournament. Sign ups till 12 noon.  

Start Times: (tentative)

BBCS @ 1:00
Naruto @ 2:00
TvC @ 2:00
MBAA @ 3:00
GGAC @ 4:00
 

Rules:
All games will be 2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches  
Semi and Grand will be 3/5 Matches
Appropriate time limit for each game
Winner Keeps same character, Loser may change
Stage selection will be random for all games

Naruto: CONR3
All game crashing glitches are banned
LNP On
Obstacles Off
Stage Transitions Off

TvC: UAS
All Characters are allowed
If fire stage is chosen, both players may agree to change it

GGAC:
Cliff & Justice are banned
Gold & EX Characters are banned

Melty Blood:
Arch: Earth is banned

Blazblue:
All characters allowed (PS3 only unless Valk becomes available for 360 by the time of the tourney)




This is a B.Y.O.C event! The hotel is not responsible for any controllers that are lost or stolen! TV's and setups would be a big help!

           Guilty Gear Accent Core
           Melty Blood: Actress Again <-------------------WE NEED A GOOD TURNOUT
           Blazblue: Continuum Shift (MikeZ's board)
           Street Fighter: HDRemix (newly added)

$7 Venue fee
$5 entry fee for each game
 
We will be there around 10:00 am for Setup, Signups, and Casuals.

HDRemix will start at 1:00

Tournaments and Events / Pre-EVO grind

Hey all

So I was able to secure a free suite (parents) for 7/6-7/7 (tues-wed night) on the week before evo. I am going to open it up to most mb players who want to come out early to vegas. This would be a great time to chill out, relax, eat at buffets, gamble, drink, and grind mbaa or whatever else before Fri.

If you want to join me, let me know....but since I am responsible for room, I would prefer it if I already know/trust you, and that you are 21+ (hopefully).

Note: that you would need to find a way to the hotel from where ever your coming from (ie taxi, shuttle), there are shuttles from the resort to various strip hotels. Also note that I will not be responsible for you (ie, you go out get drunk, arrested, dont make it back to the hotel, get robbed, raped, taken out to the desert, etc). I do need to trust you in case some of us want to go out at night and have a good time, I need to trust the people that want to stay in do not fuck up the room or let in strippers that would end up robbing the place.

Also know that you need to gtfo thur afternoon! I will then be moving to the Caeser's room with the people I already planned to stay with.

SoCal Tournament (official name pending) - Feb. 6th

This is a tourney that used to be run back in the day by an employee at the hotel. The new tournament is going to be run monthly by resident GGer RaYzYrbYrn. The goal being to revive the gg scene and to introduce new and old players to new games and competition.

Melty blood is going to be run casually all day to introduce new players to the game. With the possibility of MBAA getting added to EVO as a main game we hope to get people interested in melty and hopefully grab so new WC players! If there is enough interest and mb players in attendance we could run a small side tourney for kicks  .

That being said...

    Street Fighter 4 (FFA sf4/3s ranbat being on the same day we are going to tentatively switch sf4 to bbcs pending interest, using a bbcs board from MikeZ)

    *we will have a few Wii sticks for use

    $8 entry fee for each game
    $5 Venue fee

    TvC will start promptly at 1:00 pm
    Naruto will start at 2:00pm

    Streetfighter 4 (likely going to be BBCS) will start at 6:00pm

Tournaments and Events / Interest check for AM6 in Norcal!?

Since NRC is lame and only offering capcom games and T6, some of us in mb irc thought about throwing an mbaa gathering at the hotel during that time (since no one in norcal can really host, and hotel is so cheap). Jeffm even proposed the possibility of getting a suite at a nearby hotel for cheap or even free from his hookups. If the SF, SJ, and socal groups came together to play we would have a good number of people and it would be a fun weekend.

So AM6 in norcal?? would people come?

Norcal Regionals is scheduled 11/21-22

other than mbaa we would would/could have the usual bb/gg/hnk/poverty games/mahjong for you cool kids and PHO CHALLENGE!

Anyways it would be fun if this could work out, so post away with any comments/suggestions.

Tournament Results / NEC9 2008 MBAC results 12-06-08

So I'm sure this will get edited with more information later but here are the results for the teams tournament:

1st  Team LK Please OCV Everyone- LK/Jiyuna (VAkiha, Red Arcueid/Wara, Nanaya)
2nd Team Bible Study- HF/Brandino (Ciel gayness, what else?)
3rd  Team NiggaMaids and Chaos- Pfhor/GenericSu (Maids, Kohaku main/Nero)

4th  Team Blackenese- Xie/Dnyc (Kouma/Len)
5th and on I forget...doesnt really matter...


Hmm some exciting stuff.. was hype commentary by a number of people, lots of perfects, dropped combos and invalids...wait for the vids...

BBG9...hype 1 match, single elemination tourney:

2nd Brandino
3rd Voomer/GenericSu

4th on was the rest of us scrubs who payed 1$ to enter
