Mindhau5 Anime Fest stream now online! It'll continue throughout the weekend with brief sleeping breaks.

I just want to say good shit to those who are coming this weekend! It's going to be awesome :toot:

In past Mind-hosted events, we've pretty much always gotten drunk. But he's got a new roommate so I'll have to check  :V

It's fine, just don't break our furniture.

I'm trying for AA Flight# 1916, arrives BDL at 11:30 AM Friday Oct. 14th. I don't mind waiting in the airport until you guys can pick me up. In fact I expected to wait. I get there kinda early. Flight looks pretty good right now, so I should make it, but there are 2 other flights later that day too.

I'd try and leave on AA Flight# 1747, departing BDL at 5:40pm Sunday Otc. 16th. So I'd have to be at the airport by about 4:30pm or so.

-TexasTim-

For Flight #1916, you'd have to wait until around 1:30pm or so to be picked up.

In other news, I'll be attending along with such familiar faces as DSCHEME, FURAK, and LPFREE.

Shoutouts to Zar for wasting half of my Friday driving to Hartford and back. Seriously, get a cell phone.

Shoutouts for Yui for making the trip, keeping in touch with us until he arrived, and giving us the Nanaya experience that we were so lacking. You're absolutely welcome back anytime!

7
I bumped up BB to 12:00pm and SSFIV to 1:00pm since UCon@UConn is closing up shop early on Sunday afternoon. Also, we definitely could use extra setups, so if you have a TV/PS2/PS3/Game, I'll make sure to have your convention fee waived since I'm such a nice guy.

8
I've updated the main post with times and dates! Now all you guys need to do is show up. Just a reminder, admission to the convention is free, so you don't just have to play video games while you're at UCon@UConn.

9
So, I extended the tournaments into Sunday and added BB/SSBM/SSBB to the roster. I also lowered the registration fee, since it's just an anime convention and not a potmonster carnival.

10
Are any of you able to show up this time around? I'll replace MB:AA in the lineup with BB instead if the turnout for MB is nonexistent.

11
This entire post is subject to updates as I find out more information. We’re looking to have everything set by the week before the convention at the very latest. However, you can be rest assured that all of these tournaments are going to happen on Saturday (2/5/11) and Sunday (2/6/11), but casuals will be all weekend long!

UCon @ UConn

February 4-6, 2011

The pinnacle of academia is not to be confused with the absence of gratification. Alas, the fissiparous nature of such concepts is but a mere construction of your subscription to the media. The (chocolate-covered) quarks of February 4th through the 6th will be the host to an amalgam of scholarly pursuit, daring execution, and the greatest victories that any of you reading this post will ever hope to achieve. If you are of quick wit, you have already grasped what awaits you in the blistery northern campus of the University of Connecticut. Rooted in the digital discourse of the planet, let us celebrate the competitive spirit (again) with some fighting games.

Anyways he had his shot at you, so at WinterBrawl i challenge you to a $10 money match 3 out of 5.

I accept your challenge! I'm not absolutely positive that I'll be able to make it to Winter Brawl, but in the case that I don't make it we'll just do it the next time we see each other.

shoutouts to ehrik for the gdlk avatar

I like to minimize the window until the scroll bar pops up and slide it back and forth to pretend I'm really slapping the shit out of her.

Obligatory shoutouts post:
New England: The MindMobil3 said thanks for the gas money. However, it hungers for more!
Riceman: Thanks for covering hotel expenses for both Kamina and I. You're too kind!
Tone: Thanks for teaming with me on Saturday, it was so much fun! I'll get better so I don't play like a scrub.
Zero: Your dedication for MB far outweighs your need for sleep and food. Just an observation.
Komidol: Just keep pressing those buttons, we'll get to the top someday.
Fox/Dipstick: Sorry for holding up the tournament on account of college work that could have easily been avoided.
RoverRuckus: I need to learn the ways of C-Nanaya. We must do battle the next time we meet!
PWS: I'm coming back for my life bar the next time I play you.
Moku: I'm going to learn how to play Dragon-Style so I can use your stick and style on people.
Kamina: You must come to CT one of these days to run one of the weekend gaming gauntlets that I like to have.
Comic-Z: Please don't hit Hachikuji.

And to everyone else, thanks for the times and we need to play more!

15
Riceman, are you still on for our MB first to five $40 money match?

Melty Bread shoutouts:

Kirah: I'm planning something very soon, so please take us up on our hospitality and make the trip up. You're too much of a good influence.
Chibi: I know Koha-Mech isn't your best character...So, we definitely need to get some casuals in next time!
Spooky: Thanks for teaching me that I don't know how to block. Thanks again for the stream!
Rokunaya: That was the absolutely closest money match I've ever had. For the record, I did not decide to MM you because I thought that you were free or I hated you, it's just that you said some hurtful things which held more of an impact than you realized. Some things are just better left unsaid, and nobody likes an internet tough guy. Thanks for the games, and I look forward to seeing you improve for NEC.

And to all the other Melty players, let's keep supporting this game! It's too good and powerful!

18
Sign me up for GG:AC, MB:AA, and BB:CS ( :emo: ).

19
Hmm...since we're talking about MM's right now...Mindgam3, how about you and me ft5 for $40(that is if you go or not)?

I accept your challenge. Thank you for funding a dinner for two.

You're not invited.

so would I leave the setup there overnight?

Excellent question. We cannot hold equipment in the rooms that we have booked overnight (it's UConn, so nothing they do has to make sense), so you will have to take your setups/equipment with you either when you are leaving for the day or when the convention ends. Not being able to provide a television is not a problem at all, since it's not necessarily the amount of TV's that we will have trouble with, but the setups for the particular games that we are going to run.

It just is.  I'll be there, but I don't know if I'm comfy with bringing a set up, I don't plan on staying in the game room to watch over it's safety 24/3, and the site itself says we're responsible for our own stuff. (If I did, it'd be a 360/BlazBlue setup)

The most that you can do at this point would be to place some kind of identification (i.e. masking tape and sharpie) both on top, on bottom, and over the disc tray. I'm going to look into finding some easily customizable containers with locks on them in the meanwhile (Since I want people to be able to plug in their controllers with ease, all the while keeping the system safely secured inside the container without the risk of overheating). There will be two people in the room watching over things if all else fails.
