Can we uh...have a tournament on an arcade machine?

yeah I feel more comfortable on machines to be honest also, execution is way more on top. Besides, H2H is better.

yeah for the most part, it's about not being predictable, but I'll say one thing.

214b owns tked jetpacks. 214C will catch characters like nero setting up summons, and I think it has invincibility when the whip catches and hits. So any weapons you can use, do so.

this is kinda an old topic, but I'll throw some out there.

5B is good standing, it can clash, it does link to 214b for recombo if it CH's. Bad part is, a lot of moves seem to never hit sion's knee.

214B is good if you know your opponent is vulnerable in the air, such as air teching, tk moves, SJ, or throwing out a move. It's easy to bait though, so if they fly above it, you're gonna eat a sick combo. You're gonna either do a lot of damage or eat a lot.

623A has a few invincibility frames, and it can be linked into 214C for a sizable amount of damage.

623B is easy to bait, but it could really hurt some characters who rely on IAD rushes. It's air unblockable, I think it has a small amount of invincibility on startup. It's decent if you aren't stupid and abused the hell out of it like me.

J.C is probably the best you'll get of all, with all it's nice CH properties, comboing and such. Just don't be predictable.

J. Throw is pretty good, but in mb frames can really effect this, whereas I think Guilty Gear throws are 1-2 frames?

Of course, Ex shield - 5A 214B works on non-multi hit jump attacks. It does a fair amount of damage, and you'll get some more bar for the ex shield.

just thought I'd throw this out, while I was in the mood checking mbread.

Thanks Tare. I'll continue to work on the delay in hopes of one day actually landing it on those 3 chars.
yeah, that's the spirit, keep it up. If you are able to connect this on command one day you'll be knocking out 4k hp a combo!

I really liked the comp, had a lot of fun playing against lots of the new and old faces off the mb community. Definitely a mesh of a lot of players from everywhere, I mean norcal/socal/az/ and one EC, definitely a good tourney show, lots of exciting moments, and an unpredicted outcome. Leo you definitely are the shit, thanks to scott for the last minute ride situation, and bailing early to help me get home for work the next morning. Numukie I'll definitely try to speed up the bullshit in between car/lisence talk and make it down to AI a bit so we can play more. And Leo I heard you talking on the phone with scott on the way home, definitely we've got to play more, and I've gotta get better. Everyone who showed up, IF crew thanks for participting, I know most of you really haven't played since last WT but still props to you guys for showing up and participating. Thanks to the older mb players for showing up to play and lead the way for the newer. Also thanks to HF for random partnering with me.

I really just think just learn to block, throw a shield bunker in occassionaly to fuck with them. maybe a bara once in a few years to give them some fear of it.

the only one I can really see worth doing, and sucks because of the input mapping is 214c. if you do it witout releasing to neutral (which in other words you're relying on your opponent to keep attacking at a constant rate, since blockstun will ensue, you risk the possability of minor mixup neutral to low). this also is risky sometimes because if executed too close, sometimes it will entirely miss some characters like akiha 2a'ing. I personally like her shield bunker because it's range is good and you can tech punish with it nicely. there is one other great thing about the shield bunker, you can reversal longer range attacks than other characters, since the hitbox on the whip is bigger than most characters shield bunkers. With sion though sometimes it's just better to block it out until you find a place where you can force 2a, shield, or just take the throw (if they just did a long series of blockstring) because the damage probably won't be game breaking. Also avoid shield bunkering a ton, since sometimes it'll just suck because you'll do it when they aren't attacking and it'll all the sudden make a giant target for combos.

you asked a good question for this community, I personally will try my hardest to get to evo and help in contributing to mb's future. Thanks chibi.

that's only really to me a safe heat activation, I would avoid really counting on it for other things.
and btw, don't bother listening to that stuff, 5c will rarely push them out of range since 2b advances, 5c doesn't push back as far and connects better(caters to hitbox of defending character more), and 3b comes out faster than before. All of this pretty much makes your bnb and blockstrings that much stronger. so if you just even used abbreviated bnb which I used before, 2a2b5c3b you should be doing fine. nowadays more or less this info was taken from ver A and react.

and I must say kage's combo really is pretty decent, try to learn that too.

evo doesn't have a formal mb event, so there is no real winnings incentive or possabilities there, just fuck it go to sbo, and try to boost us image for a game that is otherwise mostly ignored in the US.
I mean it's a possible way to invest for the future of mb versus the short term visiting of seeing all the players, unless you want to go roadtrip on that evo shit.
