Thanks! :)

For those of you looking at the original pics, and going "omg the circuit meter is off the bottom", no worries, we jsut installed a new monitor chassis, so the monitor is now super-sharp and clear!

Melty Blood Auditorium / Can I get an update on the main page?
« on: May 31, 2007, 08:03:30 PM »
Our MB machine is in and working fine here at Hammergirl. B2 and everything. ^^

3
Just put in a brand new monitor chassis, and it is looking better than ever. :)

4
Pictures!

(note the fully translated insert and move list, and our top-condition Initial D v3! :))

We're still running it through its paces - shipping a cab from Japan can get dicey, and we may need to replace the monitor chassis, but let me tell you, it is tons of fun, and I never would have even thought about getting this for the store if it weren't for all of you here at Melty Bread. :)

5
hammergirlanime.com is the store, location is there - just look for cheap hotels near RIT (the college that is 3 blocks from us).

Give it a couple weeks, so I'm sure the cab and everything works, and then come and play! ^^

MELTY BLOOD IS LIVE

Game is up and running, folks. Hooray!

*goes to get pwned as Sion*

7
JP Vs. Cabinets: yeah, one of thecabs has everything in it, the second one just has a monitor spliced into the first cab, , and the controls wired across.

We didn't do that because cabinets are a couple grand. -_- If we got a second cab, it'd be a shmup or GG:AC (or Rival Schools 2 because I heart Rival Schools :)). The current setup is fine, though, it is about as far apart as a MvC2, a little more actually.

Updates on the cabinet forthcoming!

Just got the B2 GD tracking info , it'll take until Friday to get the disc and chip, and I'm guessing next Friday for the cab + the setup. (Golden Week slowed getting that GD shipped -_-)

B2 ran a good bit more than that CoinopExpress price, as those discs are the ones being sold off by companies upgrading to B2. On top of that is a cabinet, which runs between 300 (for a home one - these cabinets are fine, they just don't stand up to retail use. They are wood, not metal, so the heating/cooling of the seasons can get to them) and 2000 (for a top of the line stand-up - we're getting a sitdown, as it seems that that is the best for your playergroup. Plus, if people really want a standup, I'll build a platform. ^^ )

Shipping the cab is about 200 for same-coast, and 400 coast-to-coast, by van. 'Guts' (the power supplies, the Jamma board, etc etc) runs around 100-300, another 50$ for good sticks, and then the time it takes to put it together. -_-

The more you know! :)

9
Just so people know, the machine is NOT in.. yet.

It'll be between 1 and 3 weeks for the cab to show up, the installation, etc etc.

I'll post as SOON as it goes live, I jsut don't want people to travel and not have it here yet.

Yes, we're getting MB:AC Ver.B CE. 'Correction Edition' is an english translation of a post made by Ecole on their site:

http://www.e56.info/mbac/  - scroll down, you'll see the 'B2', like this:
MELTY BLOOD Act Cadenza Ver.B 修正版(Ver.B2)

The three kanji in-between Ver. B and Ver. B2 literally become 'Correction Edition'. So, 'B2' is what you should look for - and what we're getting.

The official title for it is 'B2' on all the places you can order it from. Getting this fact confirmed required me to call four different countries and talk with everyone from JP distros, to HK resellers, to TGA and beyond. :)

11
Hey, all, I just wanted to thank everyone for your help in getting me the info I needed to order MB for our store, Hammergirl Anime, in Rochester NY. I'm modding the cab right now, and will be installing B2 as soon as it gets off the boat. We're getting top-of-the-line Sanwa sticks and buttons, new speakers, J-style sitdown candy cab, the works. Expect pics in 2-3 weeks!

So you all know, Hammergirl Anime (in Rochester, NY) will be getting Melty Blood AC Ver. B2 in about two to three weeks - as soon as the cabinet gets off the boat. :)

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Version B Correction Edition?
« on: April 18, 2007, 06:59:44 PM »
I am literally days away from buying a Melty Blood Ver. B kit, so please reply with serious info if you can:

A: This means I should buy a B kit, correct?
B: What do you need to have to get B2 from a B kit? Be specific, link me to a page with the upgrade info, etc.
(edit: added question, 8:04:19)
C: What does "Western ISO (don't ask)" mean? I can't leave any info out here, I need to make sure I'm getting things right.

There's GOT to be an official page somewhere - heck, even if you point me to someone's post, I can follow up with them. Where are you getting your info?

The only person that appears in that thread to have info posted it in an encoding that I cannot determine - it isn't Shift, EUC, Big5, Unicode, UTF-8, anything.

In fact, on Ecole's site, I believe it says they started work on the B2 on 3/20, not released it:
http://e56.info/mbac/

Any ideas? I don't want to buy ver. B for our arcade if it'll just get the boot later. -_- Are the Sion glitches really that bad?

Can someone please define the changes for Correction Edition, and / or when its arcade release date is? Someone previously mentioned 'the japanese forum', but I don't know which this is.

16
Can I get a confirmation on the 'free upgrade to CE'?

17
I've checked yahoo japan auctions and a number of sites, with no help on finding a CE. Sure, it is new, but SOMEONE should have it. Any leads?

18
Quick response: yes, I'm that Luke. Glad you liked the comic! ^^ Autumn's haircut actually came from a litte trading figure I had on my desk - three years later, I find out that it was actually Sion!

Back on topic:

I sent Andy a note, no replies yet.

Arlieth -
I think I see what you mean by 'harness', that's cool, I might do that. You mean 'the brackets and whatnot used to proberly hold and connect the Naomi stuff on the inside, but plug into a standar cabinet on the outside', right? I really like the 'Naomi Universal Cabinet', but it is too expensive to get that shipped from coinop (1200$ for shipping alone? bleh.)
Can you please go into details by what you mean as 'fighter-standard' and 'the Cyberlead options'? I promise I'm not just pulling your chain, I'm actually looking into this, and have the money set aside, ready to go if need be. I want to make sure that if we do get this game, we get it right - good controls, correct layout, nice cabinet, etc etc.

HDP -
can you link me to the info on the Ecole upgrade? I'm pretty J-fluent, but not all the way: 4th-6th grade level. Also, if I can get CE direct from them, I'd do that in a heartbeat over coinop.

Alt - I've contacted manjiro, no reply yet - honestly their site looks kinda fly-by-night to throw money at. Sorta like how you can buy a ParaPara Paradise 2 machine from coinop, shipped, for 3750 - with no real warranty, other than you can send it back (1200 more $$!) for a refund. Yikes. Fillmore doesn't seem to do anything but bulk, am I missing something?

Master C -
Yeah, I'm not much of a fighter aficionado - I really like the character design on this one, though! (my fav fighters are Guilty Gear and Rival Schools, for the same reason!). We've got a 'waiting line' on our Initial D machine, and need something to pick up the slack. What better than a fighting game based on an up-and-coming (at least in the US) doujin world? We sell plenty of fate / Tsukihime stuffs in the store already, and even a Shiki Kara no Kyoukai figure, so it'll fit right in.

Futher overall questions - we want it to look sleek and professional, too - not some cobbled-up glorified casemod. Any tips on getting your machine to look right, and not obviously a hackjob?

(back to the comic, sorry it is off topic: Check out my new one, it's a continuation of the story. 'Stand Tall', at 'standtallcomic.com' - I honestly needed it to be just me, so I could use it in a pitch to Tokypop for a new comic. I can't talk about it more than that, though, for legal reasons ^^)

Hey all, first, please no flames, as there are a few things here that I honestly don't know what I'm talking about. I buy new arcade games for my store, and haven't 'modded' /  built cabinets in a long, long time (I used to work at an arcade in the early 90's).

We currently have an Initial D ver. 3 in the store, and we are buying a ver. 4 later this year. Doing so gives us a few more square feet of space (flatscreen monitors instead of CRT), and my local players are trying to talk me into getting the new Melty Blood AC game (ver. B, I believe).

We currently only have found one seller that'll ship to the US, and it is a 'PCB + Kit' (coinopexpress). We'd have to get our own cabinet, and that has been impossible for us. We can't find any Naomi Universal Cabinets in the US for sale, and other than those, don't know what to do next.

Anyone here with input, or perhaps know someone we could talk to?
