The "ifs" are important, the "ifs" are what could knock down all the good work the ps3 being region free has done for gaming and it's hard to see how I'm the fool, when answering to someone going "first world problem" as if it's the end word to an argument, when no-one is treating it as something other than a first world problem.

The only fools are those treating someone on the other side of an argument like one simply for being on the other side of the argument. :laffo:

Edit: Seriously I challenge anyone to find one post where I esculate this anywhere beyond being a consumer issue about an entertainment item. (Just to be safe, one post last edited by me)

I thought it's already been established that this isn't about impatience, but just to humour you.

We are talking about a hobby, everything to do with it is a first world problem, still doesn't mean you can't get pissed off at publishers when they screw you and refuse to give your money and positive wrd of mouth to support said screwing and encourage worse future screwing.

The term first world problem really is only relevant to anything when you start comparing things to war/death/ect. or going as far to threaten things which are illegal, otherwise it's just a equivalent to sticking your fingers in your ears and going lalala.

Promo Video because I'm rubbish at describing stuff.

Anyone else picking this up, or played the demo?

Comes out in January over here but it's translated in around 5 languages including English and even region free on the 360 version.

Really hoping Cyberconnect learn a bit from the Dreamcast Jojo's which they are rumoured to be porting, hope it turns out more like that and less like one of their Naruto games.

If the game does well there'll be no reason not to pull this shit again and no reason for other companies not to follow suit.

Do we really have to wait for a game to just get a JP/NA or JP/EU release before we see this as a problem, just like we waited for on disk dlc to become characters and gameplay modifiers rather than cosmetics?

PS3 being region free was taking us away from the rubbish days where a game could get released in your language and you wouldn't be able to play it because lol region lock, lets try not to go back there execept this time without things like freeloaders to fix it.

Yes this game does, but if other devs are inspired to follow suit or they go back on their word since it was a success then we may end up in that situation again.

It may seem paranoid, but I'm thinking back to how Capcom started off the whole on disk dlc with costumes, hardly anyone cared because it didn't effect them too much, as this doesn't now, now fast forward 3 years to SFxT and we have characters and modifiers locked on the disk, since no-one made a noise about the practice when they were easing it in or those that did make a noise, made it with their mouths alone and not their wallets.

It may seem paranoid, but so is region locking your game in case people import it from elsewhere cheaper.

If the EU version doesn't have the lock I'll buy it, same with the Asian version, but not throwing down any money on a region locked game on a console where it isn't already the norm.

I appologise for not taking business practices that screw us up the ass whilst setting a precedent for us to be screwed worse when someone decides to region lock a game without an EU release lying down and blindly handing my money over to the people who do it.

I have seen the light and from now on I shall let people on the internets decide which companies deserve my money and support.

Gtg, need to go buy some of those DLC gems and online unlock codes.  :prinny:

I was hype for this until region lock announcement, now as a european, I'll probably just not buy it or wait until it ends up second hand in a bargin bin after Zen United delays it until everyone has stopped caring about it.

Personnally I'd go for it, also got to remember that it isn't just the active scene that is interested in MB, there are plenty of anime fans out there and probably quite a few people into fighting games who may bite for whom regular travel costs are a bit to prohibitive to participate in events regularly but who could afford to drop $20 or so on a digital copy.

I really don't get the current MLP fad online, system looks like it could be interesting but I can't see myself ponying up the cash for it simply because theres neigh way I can see myself liking any of the characters.

Was shouting this as I type, now my throat's a little horse.

With the WiiU or whatever it's called, I honestly don't understand why no-one has used the DS's connectivity with the Wii like that new controller if it's such a good idea.

Also either the PSP vita needs a red version or some standalone company needs to make a Vita themed skin for it or Graf Eisen phone charm to hang off it, it's too awesome to not happen.

Lol keep getting hype for this game and then forgetting it exists, characters look pretty fun to play and it looks nice too, which is always a bonus.

OMG I hope this game comes out on current Gen.

Seconded, preferably either on pc or  un-region locked on console. (Dunno why so many japanese developers bother region locking 360 titles which they have no plans of localising outside of japan)

Rock, picking the answer to your opponent's previous play would just be too obvious imo and it does have the best chance statisticly.

Jurrassic Park Warpath, wasn't really into fighting games back then, but what kid could possibly resisist the opportunity to beat the crap out of a T-rex with a Raptor whilst snacking on humans or smashing one into an electric fence?  :toot:

Needless looks like it could be a good dojin fighter.
Perhaps Legend of the Legendary Heros would be a good srpg too.
Katanagatari would make a decent fighting game as well imo.

I ditto Katanagatari....is LLH good?

Yes, has quite a nice mix of comedy and seriousness so far and since it's more than 13 episodes hopefully it shouldn't end up feeling rushed near the end.

After looking around for a bit, i found a pic gallery showing off u-12 (mu) and some of her attacks. From the looks of these pics, it looks like they were really focusing on fanservice when they were designing her character model. Imo i think she is gonna more dangerous than V-13 was. here is the link http://iplaywinner.com/blazblue-cs-screens/famitsu-screen-shots-march-30th-2010/

That's just delicious XP

So she's the Archetype Earth of Blazblue.

Why are people forgetting that BB has just had unlimited versions of characters to be broken so far?
I honestly doubt there will be an "archetype earth of BB" since they've got the system of unlimited characters for that.

doubt she'll be playable. If she IS playable, shell prolly be banned on account of being designed from the start as a boss character. (ala archetype:earth)

So ASW stopped making separate unlimited versions of characters to be the broken boss characters since BBCT?
Nu, Hakuman and Deathbringer (Battle Fantasia) were banned were they?

Also I believe the arcade version does have some placeholder data for Mu to be patched in after console release.

sorry for double post, but you have to see this:

Deathsmiles is getting US release, i hope this is going to be like Senko no Ronde, since US version was region-free for PAL consoles

Yup, think it was also mentioned on the forum you linked to for the petition. (That's what I was moaning about region coding for)

And lol at this post

Signed the petition.

i'm playing it to death, it's a damn good port for 360, about 90-95% accuracy to the original PCB, save for some graphical glitches that never happened to me

also, someone from the last Cave Matsuri Festival said that there are good news coming about the DeathSmiles localization

already fapping  :fap:

I just hope that the NA version isn't region locked, nothing worse then seeing an english language version of a game available but never making it's way into the UK despite us sharing the same language, because of region code bs.

« on: January 15, 2010, 02:53:28 AM »
Sorry, I have to redact my last post.  Apparently Armored Core 5 will not be on PSP, but most likely Xbox 360 or PS3 (they didn't say, and the website says nada).  I read the headline wrong -- the news was reported at a Armored Core PSP tournament in Ikebukuro.  There is an additional Armored Core PSP game coming in March, however though.

My bad for bringing down the OP's hype :psyduck:

Ah that's a relief, a shame CH got dropped though, its a nice change to have big stompy robots rather then flying glowy robots.
