I'll be getting those quarters back Shin.  And I'll make you watch me get sodas or something with them when I do.  :emo:
What will we be winning Ben?

Big update to the main post.  Additional prizes have been added, as well as challonge links.  It also looks like Gummowned from srk will be attending the tournament, and doing dual mods on site.

Quote from: Gummowned
Let me know if people want to get their arcade sticks modded AT the tournament. I'm thinking about flying out to Texas to attend this awesome tournament.

...

Looks like there is interest for me to make it out there. The basic dual mod is $80 (ps3->360 and 360->ps3).

Also, first place winner will get a free dual mod from me!

NEW INFORMATION 1/25/11
Unfortunately, Gummowned will NOT be coming to our tourney.  A family emergency has arisen for him, however the wooden stick sides are still coming, and he is still doing the Dual Mod for first place for SSFIV (though it has to be shipped to him now).

Keep Gummowned and his family in your thoughts and prayers everyone!

However, since Gummowned will not be making the tourney, he is offering a spectacular deal!  For any mod he does, he will provide FREE return shipping to you!  Just get with me the day of the tourney, and I will be able to provide information on how to get this one time deal!

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR VENUE BY PURCHASING FOOD AND DRINKS!  DRINKING AND SMOKING IS ALLOWED BY THE TOURNEY AREA!  AND FOR YOU GUYS WHO HAVE NAGGING GF'S, IT'S ALSO LADIES NIGHT AT PLUCKERS!!

I'm in pool 1.

I will also do fig newton matches but you have to bring the package (and I'll cover half the pack.)
How to play:
A regular MM, instead of loser paying up, loser must consume a whole pack of fig newtons, with only ONE cup of water. The cup must be supplied by the hotel, so pray if you lose they're big cups. A minimum of 10 games to play this, since there's a lot more on the line. I will do this in any game I play (must ask me)

Hell yeah, fig newtons.  I'm up for this.

You actually don't need to use j.22B to get the second j.C.  I've been doing j.C, airdash j.C, j.22B j.B/j.22C 214A.  Ending combos with j.623(236?)B going into the corner is fun.  If they neutral tech, you can immediately grab them with 214A, and if they forward tech, you can hit them with 2C, depending on how far you are from the corner.

Well, I went through the majority of the cast to see what 22A/C can and can't reflect.  As far as I can tell, 22B and j.22A/B/C don't have the reflective property, but I didn't really test it out, so please correct me if it does.  Here's what I have so far (have not tested on the Necos, Akiha's, and anything with Kohaku or Hisui, team or solo).  Also, unless specifically mentioned, both 22A and 22C will work.

C-Warc: 214A/B/C, j.214A/B/C and 63214C
H-Warc: 214A/B/C, and j.214A/B/C       Does not work on 236A/B/C
F-Warc: 214A/B/C, and j.214A/B/C      Sidenote: 22A will counterhit in your favor if done in reaction to 63214C (the dash claw ex)

C-Aoko: Nothing
H-Aoko: 214A/B/C    Note: C version will Circuit Break Aoko if it hits her after it is reflected.
F-Aoko: 236A/B/C    Note: I've only been able to reflect 3 of the hits of the C version with 22A, which will get you about 1k.  22C will reflect the entire thing for 1.5k.

C-Ciel: 214[A]/B/C, j.214A/B/C   Note: Reflected 214[A] keeps the "stick and explode" property.  I've only been able to reflect the first two parts of 214B with 22A.  22C is weird because the first 214B knife will go straight through Kouma, and the last two will be reflected.  22A will reflect the first 3 knives of 214C, with you taking and giving about 500 damage.  22C against Ciel will reflect 4 knives, doing 600, with you taking about 100 damage.  Against j.214C, it will only reflect the first two or so knives, you'll eat the rest of it.
H-Ciel: 214[A]/B/C, j.214A/B/C, 236[A]
F-Ciel: 214A/B/C, j.214A/B/C    Note: 22A can reflect the knife of j.214C, but not the shadow that comes out.  If you reflect the knife, the shadow will still come out and damage and freeze Ciel in place.

C-Sion: Nothing
H-Sion: Nothing
F-Sion: Nothing

C-Wara: 2[C], 63214C   Note: 22A will reflect one ring, 22C will reflect both.  If the Warc shadow is right on top of you, then both rings will hit you and not be reflected.
H-Wara: 63214C   Note: Same as above.
F-Wara: 236A/B/C, j.236A/B/C

C-Roa: Nothing
H-Roa: Nothing
F-Roa: Nothing

C-Mech: Nothing   Note: wut
H-Mech: 236A/B/C   Note: 236B(golden fist) can only be reflected by 22C.
F-Mech: 236C, 214[A]/{B}/C   Note: Doing 22A/C against 214[A]/{B} is a bad idea.

C-Len: Nothing
H-Len: Nothing
F-Len: 236A/B/C

H-Satsuki: 22A/B/C

C/H/F-Ryougi: As far as I can tell, nothing.  I have not been able to reflect the thrown knife, but that could just be timing issues on my part, as it is fairly fast.

C-WLen: Nothing
H-WLen: Nothing
F-WLen: 236A/B/C, j.236A/B/C

C-Chaos: 236A/B
H-Chaos: 236A/B
F-Chaos: 236A/B   Note: Using 22A/C on the 236B bird will cause it to turn around and head towards Chaos.  If the bird is fairly close to you when you do the 22A/C, it will just dart towards Chaos instead of hovering to him.

Random Dustloop player's thoughts:
--Cutting projectiles and creating a barrier is pretty much similar to Potemkin's F.D.B., though I don't know if it'll affect aerial projectiles. I don't know about damage capabilities or combo capabilities with it though, or if it affects Magatama.
--Longer D windows are nice, but what about recovery?
--Gatotsu: Forward and Horizontal move? How many Magatama/How does it link?
--j2C = j2A now, can this be looped in the corner at all?
--jC = current j2C, is it more effective at jump ins and crossups? Does it still do relaunch in to Airthrow loop?
--current jC...how good of an overhead is it, and does it beat out air-to-air?
--Zantetsu damage and combo ability got nerfed, not surprising.
--jD knockdown guarantee!?! No more techouts and a free counter air combo!? Sweet!

It does affect aerial projectiles, does not use any magatama.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6200lO1wISA
At about :15 in.  Also looks like cutting a projectile gives more meter then before.  When he creates the barrier, he goes from 4 to 6 stars.

Gatotsu is a normal move, the stab he does at the beginning.  No magatama consumption, and can't cancel/special cancel into anything or be combo'd into from what I've read.

j.2C, well j.2A now, can still be looped in the corner.

Current j.C has great speed and horizontal range, doesn't look like it has that great vertical range though.  It looks like it would be possible to use it in his corner relaunch combo.

And supposedly, Zantestu's damage and comboability is the same in the second loketest.  Someone on dustloop said it did something like 1 less damage than in CT.

I don't think they do.  Last tourney I went to at UFO, they set up a BYOC at the hookah place next door to them, but I'm not sure if they're doing it again this time.

You can try asking in the SRK topic, they're likely to have a more definite answer lol

I got my Mayflash off of Ebay for roughly $40, and had a friend replace the buttons with Seimitsu PS-14-KN, and the stick with a Sanwa  JLF-TP-8YT-SK.  He said it wasn't too difficult soldering wise (he was going off of a guide on SRK the entire time I believe), and it works beautifully.  I use it to play MB, GG, BB and the like.

If you don't want to solder or anything, you can look into getting a SF4 TE, but those are in the $130 region.

Sorry for the double post, but no one's posted in awhile so... ???

Anyway, decided to mess around with Kouma's aerial 22A/B/C. Aerial 22A carries him about a quarter way of the screen, and 22B about halfway across.  Aerial 22C sends a phantom image out, but leaves you in the same place.  You can jump and air dash afterward (assuming you hadn't already used them up).  As far as I can tell, all three versions lack damage at any range, and do not give super armor.

Mmm, as much as I want to say I'm positive they're tonfa from the Kiri vs Kouma canon story I read, you may be right.  I'll have to look into this again before I can confirm either way.

You wouldn't happen to remember the source of that story would you?
It was from Kagetsu Tohya.  It was just before it was translated by mirror moon, and was just posted up on Beasts Lair.  I thought they were tonfa because what I remember most was the descriptions of how he used them - stabbing and smashing.  Having them be large sticks/awls works more or less the same.

Ah, alright.  Thank you. :D

Kouma's second 236C looks like it has grab properties, or something similar.  I was playing around with C-Kouma today, and after the uppercut came out and hit(can be blocked), Kouma was holding the opponent in the air, much like his normal grab command.  Unfortunately, I can't remember if the second 236C hit him while he was on the ground or airborne.

At 8:41-8:42, Kouma's 22A reflects Warc's Blood Ring.  Does anybody know if this was situational, or if it would apply to other projectiles as well?

25
Ah, my bad.  I read the original combo you had posted incorrectly.
