I'm glad more people will be able to enjoy the game.  Here's hoping for a Steam release.

Hmm, it'd probably be better if TP brought his desktop then.  Probably way more reliable than my silly laptop.

@beno - It looks fun, but I'm trying to save $$$ ;_; sorry

I didn't do extensive testing to be honest.  Did a couple of cpu vs cpu matches and I didn't notice the fps drop all that much, if at all.  The only time I noticed an fps drop was pausing the game (lol) and during the menus.

I'm coming tomorrow.

I'll bring my laptop.  However, my laptop is not that great and I don't know if it will run mbaacc at a steady 60fps.

Yo, Sima?!  Bring John with you if you can!

I can't make this weekend.  I already have plans.  :(
Haha, sure, I'll see what I can do.

And yeah, the 7th works for me as well.

If it's okay, I'd like to come to these too.  I'd just need an address.

Also, do you guys still play Arcana Heart?  :nyoro:

well I had a fun time regardless of not placing.  It was really nice to see everyone again after a two year hiatus.  I'm not too big on shoutouts but I forgot to say some things to some people.

Greats - I just realized we didn't play in ah3.  My internet is shitty so I tend to refrain from netplaying... Oh well.  Good job in the tourney.  PCiel is kind of nuts.
Brandon - I wanted to play you in melty but you kinda disappeared after the tourney ;_;.  Nicely run tourney though. also please give me that website so I can order touhou stuff <3
Orka and the Eko player - AH3 is a lot of fun!  Thanks for giving me advice.  I hope there are more opportunities to play offline, but the scene seems kind of dead, unfortunately.
Everyone else I talked to - You're all cool guys. *thumbsup* <3
Magnus - HEY BUDDY WHAT'S UP

I don't see how TP is a shithead or why he needs to be called out.  To keep it short, I find it un-necessary and it's a bit disappointing I have to reserve space to even say this.

Yo I had a really awesome time. I'm way too lazy to do individual shoutouts though...so I'll just say good shit to everyone I played in casuals/pools/teams.  I learned a lot even if I got wrecked.  Wish I played more casuals, but it was fun watching people play anyway.  And good times to everyone I hung out with, I had a lot of fun!

9
Looks like pool 3 is mine for the taking because

But for real, good luck to everyone in my pool.  Looking forward to some intense fights!

« on: April 28, 2010, 06:58:45 PM »
Actually, you can usually get like 2.5k+ I thought off of overhead normally. Stuff like 4C 22A 5B into air combo.
I actually got curious about what's the max H-Ryougi can do off an overhead, and decided to test it.

Seems like the max I can do is 3399 (2.4k fully reduced) while landing on the knife without using meter.  Can she do more than this?  Obviously this was done in the corner...

4c 22a 5bb 214a 5bb jbc jbc j236b

Sometimes, if you use 5c instead of the second 5bb and wait a bit after landing the first 5bb you'll be behind the opponent.  Apologizes if this has already been discussed somewhere or if this was common knowledge.

And the downstairs in a lil smaller but EXTREMELY cozy and comfortable (kinda has that "at home" feeling. That is where our smaller tournaments will be ran). To the east of the building/venue there is a parking lot dedicated for us. It should be able to hold 20 vehicles no problem. The venue is clean as HELL. Oh man it's so nice!!! And being that it is a cafe, many many many goodies will be available for sale. Sandwhiches, sodas, pizzas, chips, muffins, bagles, coffee, cappuccino, ice cream, shakes/malts and etc. all for your convenience to purchase at affordable prices.

RULES FOR TOURNAMENT GAMES:

Tournament Game Rules/Regulations/System Used:

For all tournaments the "WTF LAIN RULE!" will strongly be enforced. Ask if you need details. It is explained below though.

PLEASE NOTE:
* NO, and I repeat, NO Money Matches (MMs)...are to be had during the tournament (unless I say otherwise). PLEASE! I want this tournament to flow as smoothly as possible. Do MMs before/after the tournament. If I call your name and you don't come, and I find out you were MMing you'll get disqualified and sent to losers/put out of the tournament if you were in losers.

You get 2 mins to report to your match. If you fail to report in that time frame, and DIDN'T TELL ME WHERE YOU WERE BEFORE HAND, that's an auto sent to Losers or DQ from the tournament. This will now be know as the "WTF Lain!!!" rule

If you're money matching on a brawl setup, and it's needed for a tournament match (you shouldn't be MMing during the tournament anyways), you'll be kicked off of that setup. No waiting til the end of match.

Hope everyone understands this.

* Super Smash Brothers Brawl Singles (WII)

During Pools (this may apply to SSBM or ANY fighting game that has the "pool" feature):

Pools work like this:

You play vs. a selected (seeded) handfull of players in round robin. Whoever (could be more than one person, depending on how many advance outa pools) has the best record, advances to the double elimination bracket.

Less than 36 people play in pools = we'll have a 24 man bracket

More than 36 people play in pools = we'll have a 32 man bracket

Lol, I also switched from C to H recently.  H is just so much better and way more fun to play as imo.  Plus everyone around my area already knows how to avoid the unblockables.  :prinny:

I kinda seem to have problems fighting C/H-Sion and H-VSion.  I dunno if it's just me though but those characters' rush down games are a fucking bitch to deal with, especially considering Ryougi's poor reversal options.  Am I doing something wrong or is this actually a hard matchup?

Hisui is a pretty easy matchup in my experience, same with Nero.  Don't have much to say about other chars.

A lot of people rag on the 64 but I thought it was a pretty decent system.  Better than the gamecube and wii, but not as good as the snes.  Dunno if I liked ps1 or 64 more though, they both have their gems.

Some games I liked on the 64 were the Goemon games (I prefer Mystical Ninja 64 to OoT, and the music to MN64 is incredible.  My weeabooism started at a young age...), BLAST CORPS!, Mario Party 2, Snowboard Kids, Mischief Makers, JET FORCE GEMINI, Majora's Mask, Mario kart 64, Perfect Dark, and probably a few others I'm forgetting.

I used to have so many good times with my friends in mario kart 64, mario party, perfect dark, and smash bros it wasn't even funny haha.

Also Dracula's giant undulating bat penis attack is bullshit and I couldn't figure out a way to not die if he does it.  Basically the only strategy for living through Dracula's second form that my buddy and I could figure out was just to kill him before he could do his undulating bat penis thing and rape you.  Were we missing something or was he really just designed that poorly?
I thought Eccelsia was the best of the DS castlevanias.  Best protagonist (Soma comes close) and it was 100x more challenging than the others.  Anyway, I dunno what attack you're referring to but they're all dodgeable, some less obvious than others.  I know one of them you had to stand near him and crouch, maybe that's the one you're talking about?  In any case, 2nd form Dracula was a bitch.  One hit from most of his attacks meant death in my experience, haha.

Anyway I'll probably get ragged on for bad taste but w/e.  Games I like to replay from time to time are:

-Mario RPG (My favorite game due to the amount of nostalgia I have associated with it.)
-Viewtiful Joe
-Megaman X1
-Secret of Evermore (I'm minority on this but I found this way more enjoyable than the other Mana games.  Also the music is amazing)
-Earthworm Jim (New Junk City is probably my favorite vg song ever, lol)
