Just be wary that you can be hit out of the dashes.  For that, mix up your dash A a lot as opposed to only doing them when you're out of reach.  If you're out of reach for another A and think they're going to hit you out of a dash A, keep them honest with a 5B or 2B.

Like Tempered said, F-Sion has 3 overheads and since her staggers are her strongest asset, you can mix up the overheads just as well as the H and C moons can.  As for the canned blockstrings, I agree 100%.  Avoid the habit of thinking stuff > 5CC all of the time is a good idea because it's not.  If your opponent is an idiot, then sure it's a good idea.  You can jump between the 5C and the pull back, which a decent player will most definitely know.

If you use gunshots or 3C to make them hold still after 5C, you can force them to respect 5CC.  Just beware of characters that have a DP because that's the one thing capable of beating that frame trap (*gasp* frame traps aren't unbeatable!  Mind is full of fuck!) and nothing is more salt-inducing than letting someone like Nanaya or Roa get out of dodge by DP'ing your follow-up.

Another honorable mention is 22B.  This is quite the opposite of abusable because it works wonders when you rarely use it.  If you toss it in during a block string, you'd be amazed how strong the "Deer in Headlights" effect is on some people.  Again I would advise against using it a lot as it's easy to disrespect in many ways, but it's great if you toss it out on a very rare occasion.

I also can't stress this enough, but don't be afraid of using throws in mix-up.  In high level play, I'd be a little more conservative with throws in case they're doing the A+D OS (if that still works), but it's still an available option if you feel like your opponent is a little too comfortable with blocking.  Sion's throw doesn't do as much damage as you'd want it to, but throws in general can do a lot of psychological damage to the other player if they let it bother them enough.  In other words, throws make it possible to annoy them into making mistakes because you're still opening their defense in some way.

I'll post more as I come to think of it, but that's what I got for now.

So I'm working on a new project.  I will be making a CMV that utilizes all 3 moons for Sion.  Anyone got any combo ideas?  I'll be working to find some myself in the meantime.

3
From what I can ascertain, the patch seems to fix the random freezes people would run into when playing online (hi Tempered!), saving replays of games played online should actually work now

Yay!

4
I never had a problem with the 6C > 236B~C.  I never did anything extra for the 236 and it always came out fine.  God damn my execution!  I want to have problems with combos too, but instead I just have problems with match-ups.  :(

5
Okay so I took that loop and came up with:

2A > 5B > 2B > 5C > 6C > 236B~C > [3C > 6C > 6B > 2C]x2 > 3C > 6C > j.C > j.236A~A

Don't leave a delay between the last 3C > 6C or else the j.C will whiff.  This combo brings the opponent low enough to eat the entire dp follow-up.  It's 5447 damage on V.Sion.

6
Mother of god...  Yeah, back to the lab with me.  Right now.  Stop threatening to replace my waifu as my main, PCiel.  God dammit.  :gonk:

7
I tested the combo above and it's not too bad for now.  It does at least 4083 on regular Arcueid, gains exactly 55% meter, and zappity zap zap okizeme off of it.  You can also start the combo with 2AA and still deal about 3.9k on regular Arc.

Worth noting that if you do the combo in a corner, you can add 236[A] between the 236B~C and 3C so it would be 236B~C > 236[A] > 3C > 5C > j.C > j.236A~A.

Also if you do the A follow-up after j.236A too quickly, you won't get the hard knockdown you need for throwing out zappity zap zap (214[A]) afterwards.

There might be better combos for her, but this will have to do for now.  It's still only day 1 or 2 in the lab so far.

Good job, xPremium.

Oh now that makes a bit more sense.  I understand and I'm glad to have that cleared up.  No hard feelings?

I don't like when people makes such a complex game look so simple.
1.) :V

Quote
People got to observe, got to think, got to know the frame stuff, got to calculate risks to get out of the pressure.
2.) You almost make the second statement sound like observing, thinking, knowing frame data, and properly taking risks are exclusive to this game and have no business anywhere else.  I recall it being extremely helpful to know all of that stuff in pretty much every fighting game.

Quote
My problem is with the word "mash".
3.) Your problem with the word "mash" is that you're taking it too literally.  You're taking a lot of things that were posted here too literally and responding like everyone else is a bunch of idiots.  I don't know about you, but when I tell someone they have to mash a poke to shut something down, I don't expect them to go out and mash that poke on defense at every given opportunity like they have the button set on turbo.  That's just stupid.

When someone says "mash," typically they mean throw out a fast light poke 1-3 times because that's an amount that is sensible, usually safe, and will guarantee that you catch them if you guessed right.  You're obviously not paying enough attention to the JP match videos if you're making such a big deal about this term.  They do it, too!  In fact, Chest often throws out a 2A to shut down pressure begging to be punished because it works and if he guesses wrong, he's usually safe.  Perfect example right here when he's fighting an Akiha.  He throws out the 2A because he expects an unsafe run-in, but they super jumped instead, so he's safe for guessing wrong anyways.  Later on in the same match, he does it again and it works.

The only problem here is that you're taking the term "mash" too literally.  Personally, I love mashed potatoes, especially when they have a lot of salt in them.  I hate M.A.S.H. though, screw that show.

I'd continue this to talk about DP'ing, but it's much of the same discussion and I'm not up to putting too much effort on this.  More likely than not, you'll take me for an idiot and completely ignore my points here.  ANYWAYS thanks again everyone for your inputs.  They helped me get an idea of what to do on defense a little more and I'll be sure to experiment during casual matches to improve my ability to apply these options.

One last thing though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expected_value

This is a great article and I suggest you read it again because you obviously don't understand.

You're right about it, but you should never know that. You can trust your yomi, but that's all.

Aren't you just rephrasing the same....okay whatever.  I took all of the inputs into consideration and I'll mess with it later on when I get some matches in again.  Time to start being disrespectful because I'm happy when my opponent can't do jack squat.  :toot:

Probably, but a lot of it still applies to Current Code.  Besides, there really isn't any activity on the MBAA board now, so I figured it would be easier to post this here where more people could bump into it.

Actually, that's just a half-assed OS I was going to use to try and make myself look/feel less stupid.  I honestly didn't realize that the MBAA and MBAC archives got their own boards.  I thought they just...disappeared with the Melty Bread makeover since the Current Code boards stick out like a sore thumb and the old stuff used to be put in archive sub-forums for each character.

I often forget that 623A can be canceled into an EX.  That will help quite a bit actually.  Now I just wait for responses from others.

I switched to F-Sion from C-Sion a couple of months ago when I got back into MBAA and I love it so much.  Although I'm faced with a big problem here.

I'm lacking a lot of match experience.  I'm too passive on defense.  If I lose offensive momentum and get rushed down, I'm stuck on "What do I do?  I know I need to shut this down and get my momentum back ASAP, but how?  I feel like if I try anything, I'll get hit.  What the heck do I do?"  This always ends up in me blocking everything forever and eventually backing myself into a corner when I get overwhelmed by a lot of aggression.

I was told by a friend that Sp00ky had the same problem when he started out in MB.  Unlike Sp00ky, I can't solve my problem by having Zar beat the shit out of me for thousands of matches until I become more aggressive (because I have no clue where Zar lives).  Instead, I decided to ask the board.  What are F-Sion's most viable defensive options (besides blocking) and how can she follow them up?

Last I checked, her shield bunker isn't that great and I doubt that has changed (Hey, prove me wrong though).  Full moon obviously can't EX-Shield, but you can shield counter.  What are some combos you can do off of F-Sion's shield counter?

To sum this big post up:  I block too damn much.  How do I be more disrespectful with F-Sion when I get rushed down?

I bolded my biggest questions for people who don't feel like reading the whole post.

Bolverk-GTM here and no I'm not dead.  I got back into MBAC again because I'm teaching a friend of mine how to play Melty and my MBAA setup took a dump on me recently so that's an eliminated option (as much as I'd want to teach him through MBAA, considering how different it is from MBAC).

I'm only a mid-level player at best, but I'm excellent with theory fighting, so I would prefer that more people join my new channel so that my friend can get more proper match-up experience outside of my Sion and my troll subs.  Besides, I think getting my ass beat horribly in MBAC would be helpful too so I can get in shape.  If anyone has Akatsuki Blitzkampf, I'm down with going a few matches in that too.

I don't know if I nailed the right thread for this topic, but I'm curious if there's really any MB wallpapers of this size out there or if anyone is willing to make a few.  I haven't hit up pixiv yet (probably my next stop) but pretty much everywhere else I look, there's none to be found (1024x768 is the largest I've seen so far).  Anyone willing to help me out here?   :psyduck:

Ok so question here and it may have been asked already.  I'm ridiculously used to MBAC Sion, so I decided to look into C-Sion's combos in MBAA so I can stop using my BnB from MBAC since it looks like in MBAA there's some more damaging combos for C-Sion.  What's being a total beeyotch for me is timing the j.[C]s in the first BnB.  Anything can go wrong whenever I try it, whether it be the AI techs randomly on the first j.C (this is a random occurrence just because sometimes 3C to j.C doesn't feel like working), my ad.C whiffs like it usually does (this is why I omit the ad.C in her MBAC BnB), I'll sometimes do a regular j.C which is sometimes acceptable because it hits anyways and it combos into j.214C, OR in the cases where I said "screw it" and omitted the ad.C and tried it without, the j.214A whiffs because there's too much spacing.

In a summary, my major problem is the freaking ad.C.  Ever since MBAC Ver. B, I couldn't get it to work for the life of me.  I mean sure it SOMETIMES works, but it's not often.  I've always been great with Dualshock controllers, but never has something stumped me like this before.  I got pretty much everything else on Sion down wonderfully, but my pet peeve remains to be ad.C and I don't know why.  While I keep at this like the persistent fighting gamer I am, can anyone throw some pointers on the timing of the j.[C] delay ad.[C] delay dj.[C] j.214A my way?

OMG LOL i'm crying of laughter over here.  oh i can't breathe.  xDDD  the first one was funny enough, but the remakes are just fucking hysterical.  holy crap i think i busted a gut on that one!  very very nicely done Bonkler.  i need water and a paperbag really bad.  xD

This is pretty fun, here's my Ciel:

^ I lol'd pretty good on that one.  xD

Even more rage faced Sion, lolol.
Awesome faced "Fabio" Nrvnqsr Chaos, fucking genius!

I like them both, I got a good kick out of them.  Today I'm aiming towards making a Nu-13 ryutar and possibly an Aoko one as well.  I'll be sure to post when I get around to it, until then keep them rolling, this stuff is great!  :D

A regular looking Warakia?  A very pretty boy looking one at that???  OHHHHHH MYYYY GOD TOO RICH! *head explodes*  :V
Well I'll be, someone actually did it.  xD  It's not the right dimensions but who gives a crap, it needed more room in order to be that well.  Very nicely done Warakia, Kamina.  So next in line is Nrvnqsr if anyone wants to tackle him before I do eventually OR if someone wants to make one of another MB character, then by all means go for it.

*UPDATE*: I'm running dry on ideas.  I was thinking of doing a Ragna avatar for DustLoop but I just can't pull it off, I feel like I'd screw it up because I just can't seem to draw that expression I desire from him.  I'm back here now for ideas on what to do next for MB avatars instead so I'm all eyes on suggestions.  Name a character and what to poke fun at from the character and I just might do it, but right now I got ideas for Nrvnqsr and Aoko so I'll probably work on them starting tomorrow.

I was thinking about a Nrvnqsr Chaos one in the near future if you want to give him a go.  For him I'd go with "JAY CEEZ LUHP" (j.C loop) or something like that.  If you or someone else doesn't do it in the next few hours, then I will.  Right now I'm working with planning a request from the DustLoop community for a Dizzy avatar so I wouldn't get around to Nrvnqsr until way after the amount of time it would take someone else to do it.  :\

Yeah I like the Bang avatar too.  He's an easy target imo.  xD
ANYWAYS, Everyone, I bring you my first Melty Blood character avatar complete at long last!

Roahsbeeeef:

I learned a lot making this one, including a better skin color and some touch-ups for slightly more detail to make it lean towards the lulz factor even more.  I just had to make fun of the moe face, I really did, so I threw the moe lip gesture in almost right off of the bat.  People that have played Riesbyfe to some extent on MBAA might get this one but if you don't, the phrase is a severe misspelling/mispronunciation of Riesbyfe's Arc Drive, Official Apocrypha (正式外典 <--- you translate it...), or at least what she says when she performs it, but then again I think she just says the name of it (me no speak Japanese!)... >_>
Oh well I had fun with this one and hopefully I brought a few laughs with it because there's still more to come when I get ideas.  ^^

Okay
1. Saving that motivational, I got my own uses for it.  xD
2. With that protip in mind, I think I might do what Dizor did to his Zappa pic.  Since Zappa already looks like a total insane freak of nature (you know, with being possessed by multiple spirits and such) he just looks sad and worried in the pic.  I could picture Warakia looking like that for some reason for one of these pics...  ._.   INSPIRATIONNNNN, thank you again Dark for you are an awesome person.  :D
