I'm out of venues other than my own house, which while fun isn't exactly a venue...
If anyone else has any suggestions or whatnot I'd be glad to listen to them.

If not I will do my best to find another venue, but won't be able to get one this short notice for june, maybe late june at the earliest. :/

I will try to find another place to pick it up so we can start doing this nonsense for realz..

Well.....

As of right now this is tournament is cancelled.
The store has been closed due to... stuff. And will no longer be open for this tournament.

It is unfortunate and blah blah blah stuff that isn't really relevant to you all, and I'm sorry about this for now.

If you guys still want to come out and chill at my house for a few days that would be awesome, we could make an event of it.. but the store is closed. :/

yeah like I said.. as long as the numbers aren't ridiculous for people who want to show up at my house... like 20+ people... I/my family is/are fine with letting you guys crash for the night. And the more people we can get to start showing up from the midwest the better.. so it's always a good thing.
The date is basically locked for the 12th, just waiting on slayer to finish his post, which I will then copy into the first post here.

If you would like to stay at my house that night just let me know and I'll add you to the list.
Also if you need a way to get a hold of me/the store just in case you get lost or whatever let me know and I'll get you a phone number.

Well cinci has 5 players right now (though 3 of them barely count as 'players').. at least as far as our group goes (haven't heard of another group) and I'm gettin a few more into the game here between now and then. So it'll be nice numbers.

I know greats and shardz said they'd come, and butters out of pitt... beno wants to come but apparently has the ACT.
As long as we can get 10 people in the tourney I can justify running it monthly/bimonthly.
If we get like 12 I'll probably run a teams event as well just for funsies.

Why are you taking the ACT in mid june? Also I told you to tell me if any weekends didn't work for you, and you didn't say a damn thing. 
I'll bring up moving it back a week tomorrow with slayer and brian. But 12th and 19th are the only options for june.

I promised some of you last night in IRC a mid june tourney for midwest to get together. And I'm coming through with it.

The store has closed, so no tourney there.
Could still do the whole 'drive down and do stuff at my house and maybe hold a tourney there as terrible of an idea as that would be'. Lemme know if you want to do that instead.

There should have been a couple more.. I couldn't make it out unfortunately on short notice... But at least schnetz and blue crane were there from my little group of proteges. Good shit to tiggy and meta though, grats on the seeds. Hopefully I'll make at least one big event pre-evo (not likely if I couldn't get to chicago from cinci xD).

The username I bought is Cornix, though through beta I used faelirae and LonePenguin as well.

HoN's emphasis on carries dropped significantly recently, the big reason for the emphasis was that originally some 'orb' effects stacked in HoN as opposed to DotA. I.e. you could stack lifesteal on top of shieldbreaker or sange and yasha. You now no longer can (other than abyssal skull but that's the same as DotA iirc.)
Overall I like HoN more than DotA and I despise LoL, I know DotA is the original, and neither of my two favorite characters have made it to HoN (yet) in Windrunner and Enchantress, but HoN just feels and looks smoother.
People bitch every time a new hero comes out that S2 sucks at balancing, but the same thing happens in DotA.. they release a hero and it's either complete shit or omg awesome... and then it gets tweaked and it all works. Forsaken Archer was omg terrible and engineer was absolutely ridiculously amazing, and now they're both heroes you only see some of the time. Chipper isn't even all that good, he needs rockets less often but otherwise he's fine. I'm sure Belphagor will either be stupid or outstanding when he comes out, but that's what always happens.
Besides.. none of the new characters have measured up to the 'top tier' yet anyway... Jeraziah Tempest Plague Hellbringer Demented Shaman Behemoth are still omgridiculous... and the only really difficult one to play is behemoth, and even that is a stretch... but those characters were absolutely ridiculous in DotA too (Omniknight, I forget who tempest is, lich, warlock, dazzle, earthshaker).

Also I will do Art of Fighting 3 drinking matches. Every time a person gets knocked down they must take a shot. Limit to this game is once per night, so I will only do this 3 times over the span of evo. This is not for the weak.

The question then being, does the match stop for the shot, or does it continue? (i.e. if they don't take the shot before they recover from the knockdown can they get knocked down again?)

My suggestion would be to attempt to find the updates to/reinstall your language packs.
But it is displaying correctly on my laptop on windows 7 (though I have no idea if it's updated yet, I don't see any pending updates so I assume it has.)
