The IAD solution sounded cool,
Until I tried it. Its really hard (haven't landed it yet) to execute because I feel like the window's too small, that and I can't imput 8 66 super fast to get an IAD... I used to use like A+B or something for a dash button back in ps2 but now i'm working without one.

And the arcdrive one is pretty neat, after arcdrive(holding 2) 2c (in corner) it forces me in corner but i have knockdown so i think i can do a sort of which way with a warui ne. But i can't 623bb after it because my character is facing the wrong way after 2c.
But for the 214b combo, I'm not sure about this one... its hard

But yeah thanks for the suggestions guys

Just curious, the most damage I can get out of F-Nanaya raw AT is using
5[c] 2c 623bb d.j j.b j.c AT
Are the other ways of dealing more damage?
Aside from double 623b combo, I can't execute that yet.

While there may not be large streamers of Melty, if SOPA passes how badly do you think it will affect the Melty scene?
Just curious because most Melty is mostly from Japanese sources (like the companies n stuff) and I'm not sure how it'd work.
Mostly because I'm unfamiliar with the exact consequences of SOPA

So Choy, with Current Code out how about we start organizing meetings to play?
I also imagine Foonzo's open by now so we should meet up there, check it out and play some melty

Aye, yeah sorry Madscientist we haven't really got a chance to really get into the game so far... but once we get a community going we'll start heading out to tournies and stuff. Also cause toronto is 7-ish hour drive from montreal so yeah... if only i could drive D:
Currently, the main place to play fighting games is sorta under renovations so we don't really have a venue to meet up and such.
But give us a month or so after CC comes out and I'm certain we'll have one going.

Yeah, that'll work. Just give me a heads up of who you are when you call cause I don't normally pick up my phone.
But for once, I will remember :P
I look forward to this weekend! :D

Yeah, was thinking if they don't have any ps2s, we can bring our own. And i know its a bit sudden, however i'm meeting up with said friend from earlier who plays sf4 this saturday/sunday, so i was thinking sunday during the day we could meet up and check out places. However... i'm not sure what is open on sundays.
For meeting up, my number is 438-868-6019, text me sometime during the day.
For meeting location, he lives at atwater so anywhere from there should work

Otakuthon... This year's convention was my first anime convension, so it's all new to me. Though it seems like I did indeed miss a few noteworthy things.

Sounds like I need to start practicing though, because I have no knowledge of blockstrings except for bnb intros... I dunno, never played against someone who knew what they were doing.

I'm thinking of picking up C-arc due to the fact that... i generally like her and a video of CC made me think of trying her out.

But man, all this talk about Melty really makes me want to go and play it. I need to get my ps2 back from my friend and start grinding out stuff.

But yeah for the place, my friend isn't really into melty so he'd rather use another place first before. So my idea is, we should meet up and go around places checking out venues and asking if they have region lock free ps2, if not, can we birng our own. Cause my friend sugests the Foonzo, but once again, never been to downtown venues. I'll ask him if he would want to tag along, this way he can see if he can find a good sf4 place as well.
But i imagine my friend would play melty if there are people playing it, cause he loves anime, and fighting games... also melty's system is just so good, its impossible to play it and say the system sucks.

As for availability, I'm free friday nights, saturday night and all sunday.
So anytime on the weekend works for me... If not I can always request days off in advance.

Okay so yeah, my french is quite bad, so bad its funny. Somehow i passed french at John Abbott but I haven't written or really spoken french for a year or so. I guess excuse my poor french :P

But at Otakuthon I didn't really get the chance to play because my group of friends was trying to do other things...
I sat in the back for about 20 minutes on Saturday while my friends did some DDR n stuff. Then the games switched so I left.
Also on Saturday someone I knew was playing there, except at the time he really hated me for something... didn't really want to throw a bunch of drama at the stand. I still don't understand it but meh.
Sunday, didn't have a chance to drop by the game room :(

So the asian guy, most likely not me since i didn't play, however... C-nanaya is my best char.
WHY SO MANY NANAYAS D:
Though... I'm still trying to find MY char to play...

And I feel like I missed important stuff from otakuthon now...

I'd be down to travel out somewhere to play this game.
The question is... where to meet up and play?
My suggestion would be like a venue of sorts. I have no clue of places that are like game centres in montreal though. I have an idea of one in my area... haven't been to it though.

Well, this tournament is quite sometime from now, but I would like to offer my support... its not much but since I most likely can't go.
I can donate some money to help get people there as long as there's a stream to watch :D

No really, if it helps the community and gets people to the tournament then yeah for sure.
I'd just like to see how the port's going to be, and how easy it will be able to get before doing anything quickly.

... Yes east coast canada and french, The quebec thread

So after seeing the getting off my lazy ass topic I decided its about time I at least made one specifically for this region.
Now I KNOW there are people who at least know melty blood in this region, and are maybe also lurking using the forums. Cause back over at Otakuthon at the MBAA setup I saw people having fun at it and this one dude actually doing what I think a C-Warc combo... which means SOMEBODY has the game and has practiced! (he sorta did the air combo c b dj c b instead of bc... but he was playing on pad so i don't blame him)

If there's anyone in the montreal region and wants to play, post here and maybe we can get something going cause... I have had MBAA since it came out and haven't really played against GOOD people since. It is sad indeed.

Anyways, I live on the west island, so its not really montreal but I can easily public transit to the metro system if need be.
I can speak both english and french reasonably well (french is weaker).
So yeah, Je veux jouer cette jeux avec les personnes qui son bon. Lets get a community rolling!

Spreadshirt ships to Canada. 3-6 days with UPS standard.

http://www.spreadshirt.com/help-C1328/categoryId/313/articleId/19
Totally did not hit the UPS standard button when choosing the shipping... oh well the order has been placed.
Can't wait for the stuff to come in!

13
So before I order stuff and possibly be sad as i try to...
Does the shipping service ship to Canada?
I'm hoping to buy about 4-5 things
I just wanted to confirm before I do...
Though I didn't see Canada in the shipping list :(

What if the small number of people there at the beginning are stupid?
The new stupid people will feel right at home! I feel it would be very unproductive though.

Anyone else notice that sometimes the random new people are total idiots? (Might not particularly have to be this forum but yeah)

Of course not.......
:laffo: :laffo: :laffo: :laffo: :laffo: :laffo: :laffo:
Haha yeah I actually didn't think there were any of those here. More like I feel like the idiots turns to non-idiots quickly. The amount of resources here are great, and this game isn't easy so I feel like the easy way out doesn't exist as much... People need to put in more effort. Its a great filter

Anyways thanks guys for the responses, I have a better understanding of this idea.

Komidol, I don't know why people troll you but its funny, you should find out why people do it. Maybe it'll help prevent it. Hehe

After watching a discussion between some starcraft 2 pros (State of the game), they brought up some good points...
Not sure why I'm posting this but i thought it was interesting

For some reason, when games start to blow up and their scenes begin to become huge (the transition from brood war to sc2) the flood of new people is good... more people to play with, just its overall sort of good.
The point they bring up is that on forums and stuff, the newer people read things and start arguing when they don't know much... or they want to prove their side right. (i guess the younger and the lesser intelligent?) From what I've seen, their argument points aren't very good, almost as if its just a circle of the same lines and the same idea and nothing really develops except hate. Also it sort of makes the pros of that community use the forum less and lots of shit starts to appear in each post.
It sounds like when a game blows up, the smaller tight community gets split and the forum is ruled by the not-so-intelligent people.
Not sure if I should be saying this because I haven't done anything really for this community (sorry guys Quebec Melty is non-existant... :'()
Anyone else notice that sometimes the random new people are total idiots? (Might not particularly have to be this forum but yeah)

Makes me glad that the community for melty has a community which is overall funny and nice. You guys trolling each other is hilarious, and are reasonably nice when random new people ask "stupid" questions. Thanks

On a side note, Naniwa (Sc2 pro) was listening to this list of music... I thought I should share it cause it's just AWESOME!

Great show guys, keep up the good stuff.
NEC's stream is the first time I see Fox's deathtrap, that thing is gdlk.
But yeah as LPT said, an analysis of F-Sakiha's mixups would be cool, the most recent 3 on 3 in the meltybread youtube channel kinda has a lot of her doing some crazy things.

So while the thread slowly dies down, I thought i might as well post something

If anyone's intersted we hold some very scrubby melty blood games at John Abbott College in the Chinese club.
Some seriously sad players there but it's a start to getting some people into melty.
Drop by, ask for Norman. If I'm not there, leave a message on the white board, with your email or whatever?

As someone who's recently joined the community i think a cast with Arlieth was a great idea. Knowing how meltybread came together was really helpful.
A few times of random silence was funny.

Still great job guys, i look forward to the next cast

I'm surprised that there are actually a few Quebec MBAA players out there. Seriously, found this forum topic and was filled with joy... for a moment, until i realized that I live on the west island region. Not Montreal. Think anyone could shed some light on nearest melty gatherings if there are any?

21
Totally posted my introduction into the wrong section, noobed that up :P . The Melty series is kinda new to me, actually so are fighting games in general so excuse my noobness :)
I got into Melty Blood through watching bellreisa's/sibladeko's videos on youtube, kinda thought this stuff looks crazy, this shit is hype. Awesome!

Originally an Iamp player, I think that the transition will be weird. Like there are many instances when playing my freinds i feel the need to dash forward "through" projectiles to avoid them only to get nailed by them. But anyways hope i can learn some stuff from you guys.

and anyone who lives in Canada... in Quebec (around montreal that is) give me a shout, would love to play... though it's quebec, frenchies are weird so melty's probably non-existant here.

I play various chars, but mostly C-Nanaya, H-Len and H-Hisui.
