hi.

so I'll be around from the 22nd to 2nd of January. right in the middle of holiday season, but was wondering if you guys would object to a get-together sometime around there. if people are gonna be busy/out of town nbd.

Oh look my plane to Sky Harbor is delayed half an hour.

Why is United so bad?

Advance warning, hah!  I was planning on asking who was hosting this morning when I saw the talk about it being Thursday.  It shouldn't be a problem though, I might honestly just stop off at home long enough to shower and then head out, honestly not sure.

Carlos: I will show you the skills I have developed doing literally everything but playing fighting games.  I still remember my basic H-Roa shit at least.

Dippy: Thanks, I kind of remember the location (up by Fiesta right?) but not well enough to drive it by memory.

Oh god dammit you would play on Thursday this week of all weeks.

Who's hosting, I may be lucid enough after 20+ hours of flying to pop in for a bit.

EDIT: Actually, whoever's hosting, send me a PM with the address?  I'm getting in at like 6pm and then I'll probably eat and spend some time with the folks, and then if I can make it I'll try to head out around eight-ish.

That's the other thing that I'm a bit worried about.  With Melty, frame data was important but I could get by at least decently without knowing it, but VF seems almost entirely rooted in knowing frame data - both on your character and the rest of the cast.  That's a pretty big barrier to overcome.

I'll definitely be giving it another shot after I get the basics down but I'm not sure I'll ever get to a point that could be considered "good".

3d pig disgusting etc etc

Took the cast off yesterday, got a bind for it, started rehabbing, so hopefully it'll be back to normal within a month or so.

I should watch that VF5 beginner's primer.  I'm really interested in learning the game but god damn there's so much to grasp just to start off and not having folks around to talk to about it is rough.

7
oh shit what am I doing here  :psyduck:

How's life in Arizona?

8
Arizona Phoenix Valley:  SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUN

9
What's happening then? :V

My triumphant return (for one saturday when I'm not busy with a wedding).  I may be able to make a couple of weekday afternoons/evenings if I don't have other things going on, but assuming I don't get destroyed by jet lag, I'll be there on Saturday guaranteed.

Also my loved one can never die.

Keep the 24th open.

In exchange for stream, I offer real life roll-cancelling for making whiffs safe.

13
You guys streaming tomorrow by any chance?  Want something to watch.

14
I am having the hardest time picking up C-Roa's orb combos.  Why am I so bad at fighting games.  :slowpoke:

15
Master's Fighter 2, with more Kangfinite.

16

Pretty Fighter Rainbow Edition.  MK VS KI.  Mace VS BioFreaks VS WarGods.  BlazBlue 3.  You really can't imagine worse?

Pretty Fighter Rainbow Edition day 1 buy.

Also no mention of another Clayfighter in your list of horrifying games?  Come on now.

17
Why am I so bad at figuring out combos and shit for characters?

That said, H-PCiel is kind of ridiculous with just the combos posted in the thread.

18
I dunno who I play anymore.  I'll probably still train up on the H-Roas, check out C-Roa, and see if anyone else in the cast catches my interest.

Pity I'm all the way over here so netplaying you guys isn't a real possibility.

Just have to wait til March then.

My stuff was there last weekend, but everyone was playing AH3.  I'll bring it again tonight and if people want to play, by all means.

HF will probably get a lot of enjoyment out of the flagrant abuse of MMX2's engine there.

Continuing with the Top Gear links, have the best eco-friendly car ever: Geoff.

God bless professors who don't take advantage of a sixteen-day advance notice about a letter of recommendation, wait until they have a week left, and then have to ask me if they can just e-mail it to the university instead of mailing it.

Ugh.

I probably can, though I'd need to know when and where.
