Shame that some of the chars are so underplayed that we don't know what changes actually happened on console. . .

Looking forward to you getting that arcadia issue

KohaH's changes (for everyone who wasn't in IRC), is pretty much console (like Garu told me). Additionally BE2C probably has the shit proration it has on console as well.

People can still check for changes on their ps2s. Just added a few things I could find with Red Arc: http://mbaa.mizuumi.net/index.php/Changelist
It'd be nice to get it done for the sake of completeness. A lot of the jp bbs stuff could be listing arcade -> mbaacc rather than console -> mbacc

Really going to use 2C instead of 2[C] in combos now :/

:V

better yet, someone help wikify the rest of the data. I hear that Kohaku page has a nice template.

5
this begs the question, how are you gonna plug a keyboard into a PS2

what a rubbish system

shouldn't you be using 2C instead of 2[C] if you're playing on original?

Why not try it with Sega Naomi emulation instead of PS2 emulation?  That's bound to run better, and the Makaron emulator is supposed to be quite good at this point (I believe it runs CvS2, MBAC B2, for starters).  Haven't tried it myself because the games I want to play for the system are already on other stuff (like the two examples mentioned above).  Getting some GGPO-style netplay, on the other hand, would make me instantly want to try and get the thing running, especially if there's never a PC version.

MBAA hasn't had a rom dump yet sadly, and naomi emulation has no form of netplay yet that i know off. I wouldn't hold out on ps2 netplay either. It'll either be naomi with some form of netplay or PC version.

you can only punish H-moon spark with air throw or well timed unblockable im afraid. Only a handful of Last arcs are unblockable

thes 6[C] link isn't too hard, but its important to note that the more hits you use early in the combo , the faster they can airtech. So starting with 2AA2B5B... they're likely to tech it,whereas with 5B2B5C6AAA 6C 6[C] should work more consistently. It probably becomes easier on a cornered opponent too.

Alright, back on topic. I've added the findings from this thread to the Mizuumi wiki changelist here.

Try not to add anything without first confirming yourself . If you're unsure just post a video or describe the situation/combo here and someone will help.

Keep 'em coming!

why is halfmoon considered her best groove? what does it have over crescent?

Raw damage output would have alot to do with it. Her standard bread and butter combo and command throw both lead to ridiculous numbers, and you won't end up dropping them half the time... even her simplest bnb will net you 5k+. 623B/C anti-air, 623C reversals get her out of tight spots.

Crescent makes up for this with more dangerous oki and slighty better normals.

You can only ground jump cancel once per combo.

It's unrelated to jump cancelling,  but Shiki Tohno's 5bb is a weird exception to the usual order of things where he can chain the move to 5a/2a regardless if it was used earlier in the chain or not, and it also won't reverse beat doing this. Try the same thing with Nanaya and you'll see it only works for Tohno

Went to a random arcade and it had VerA so just give it some time for videos.
there arent any real visual cues like how had verA, verB and BS had for Cadenza
VerA for AA has the same UI just with balance tweaks for characters

theres a little 'version a' logo in the top left when char screen loads, pretty easy to miss tho. Aside from the new mechanics changes, i think theres also a slightly different airdash graphic (more bubbles!)

remeber its only one guys opinions of the characther rankings, not a weighted one from lots of top players like the old arcadia mbac matchup chart

what I find funny is that two characthers with infinites somehow manage to avoid A tier

half is so strong atm, will nerfing instant life regen be enough?

Kohaku's Magical Garage / Re: MBAA new game mechanic: Hierarchy system

the red splash effect is actually critical hits.

This new hierarchy system is a really great change imo. From what I can tell it, the hierarchy only really matters on situations where a trade CH would occur, tho i might be wrong. So like LK says a properly spaced attack won't automatically lose to its opposing attack type.

Old clash mechanic is still around, seen kohaku 2b clash with alot of moves, but it seems seperate to this new mechanic. Random moves clashing each other is happening alot less.

I've seen this happen with some specials too

Check dat bnb at 3:55

jC 5C 6C 5A 6AA iad jC 2B 5BB 2a(whiff) jC djBjC airthrow

Nearly 6k damage.. lol

If you're feeling bored, you could play around with h-moon j.B as well. The move definitely has crossup potential, but I'm wondering if theres more as well since it's in the changelist for mbaa ver.a here. With 6C they'd probably fix the glitch where he can switch sides mid blockstring much like akiha 4c was doing. F-moon j.A and Crescent 2B are mentioned as well, no idea what those could be. Is Crescent 2b still the 2hit move like in mbac?

Shiki Tohno / Re: MBAA Tohno: WE GOT BLOCKSTRINGS!!!

2b- same as MBAC.. but instead of two hits.. it does one.. so you could use this although the move dosen't hit low however

:emo: Lame...does his 2a still hit mid? Having only 2c and slide kick as lows would kinda suck

How's his 6aa like as well btw? Can he special/ex cancel the last hit? One of the stronger bnbs i'd seen had an iad JC and 6aa thrown in. Did crazy damage. He might not have to 5a whiff his 5bb's anymore either , it looks like he can super jump cancel it now.

New air dash is ballin'
Quote

Crescent Tohno- Tohno seems roughly the same as MBAc tohno in this verison.. pretty much the normals seem the same... the only difference i see is the dp in the air..dp on the ground (you do 236 a in the air.. you only get one hit) you dp again to get the second hit.. but i think you air throw after the first one... also dp super in the air.. other than that.. not much else has change... but if you guys want to check some shit out feel free to let me know

I noticed crescent had some kinda downward hitting EX special in the air as well. At first i thought it was a normal (j2x) but then i saw the ex version of it. Having 2 part DP is kinda nifty too...but honestly half just looks so much better than the other two styles.

Full moon's 2a might be short but it looks faster than any other 2a (3f move maybe?) and it recovers fast enough, looks like its +f.
