Just for the record... the TempBan probably shouldn't be induced so quickly... I rely a lot on the relay in order to connect to people, but sometimes it likes to be weird and decide to give timeouts after "Now Waiting for Response" and then randomly allow one to finally connect... While trying to connect to a friend I got temp-banned thrice before it finally stopped giving timeouts... it was a bit of a nuisance.

The anti-camping programming is definitely appreciated, I just think it's a little too strict at the moment. (Used to get a ridiculous amount of relay campers last month.) My friends are also rather... slow... most of the time, so 30 seconds often isn't even enough for them to finally try to connect... =>.>=

Just a couple ideas is all.

*looks at the CGI:IRC homepage... head spins* Ehehe... that looks like something a bit out of my league in terms of getting it installed, set up, and functional... It also apparently doesn't work with Windows, but the FAQ says that people have reported getting it to work with Windows... although it didn't say how. It looks too complicated for me at the moment and I wouldn't even know where to start to get it to work...

Okay... so I've been reading around on the places where Melty Blood players go to get a few games going, and the most common place I see listed are the various IRC channels... but this presents a small problem... IRC happens to be THE most firewalled chat service out there and is the only one I know of that actually requires freed up ports to work properly.

I was wondering if there's anywhere else that a lot of Melty Blood players gather online that's more accessible to people behind a firewalled network. I'm still rather new to the game (only been playing a month) so I really wanna see how I do against people significantly better than myself for the fun of it... but I can't find them cause of the pesky firewall... =u.u=;;

If anyone knows of an IRC client that can actually connect properly on a prioritized network, I'd use that... otherwise... I dunno what to do. XD The only other good chatting service I know of is xFire, just have someone on your friendlist invite you to the room and you're set.

I'm really interested in getting to play with others... I'll be on a network that I have control over for about 3 weeks starting December 18th so I'll at least be able to try to play during that period, but once I go back to this current network it'd be nice to still be able to play with everyone.

It seems to go on and off at random as far as I can tell. I have to almost exclusively use the Relay when I NetBattle since I cannot host directly and cannot connect to Hamachi IPs (well I CAN connect to them, but the pings tend to exceed 1500ms) because I'm on a university network...

So it's either the Relay or find someone who can actually host directly or I'm doomed. XD

It's a little annoying when it goes down, but eh, the only thing you can do is wait it out and keep trying until it comes back online. It tends to go down for at least a full day at a time though, so perhaps if you tried playing during the morning, don't try again until the evening.

Guess I'll add mine in here... I don't really play this mode very often since I usually stick to NetBattling... but here's my best time.
