Kohaku & Mech-Hisui / Re: F-Kohaku and Mech Hisui

Nice topic! I considered playing as this team for a while, since F-Koha and F-Mech are my main characters. I just love my counters and plants too much though. Would've been cool if playing with a Mech lead was possible :)

One thing that can be said is that this team has a lot of meter to spare, because her only EX-moves is 236 and 623c.

He beat us because he plays a lot of MBAC netplay and has great fundamentals and execution, not because of Boss Rush :V
Didn't he say something about Boss Rush? KINOSEI DA? D:

Also, wtf. It's always dead around you and when I mention something like this, POP - you're there. Kinda creepy.

Well, I could never beat it, so I downloaded the 100% save file instead :x

And what can I say, I'm a lurker! I rarely feel like posting.

Loli:

Boss Rush is not a good training partner.
It gets you 3rd. and 1st. place in tourneys

CHINKFACE

This.

Thien, notably best german player, beat the crap out of us all by training MBAA in Practice and Boss Rush. HE BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF US! WITHOUT LOSING ONCE!

Hey folks. I've actually been registered here for quite a while, just never made a post like this. Figured I might as well, for those wondering who I am :V

Anyway, I'm 21-year-old Dutch player. I've been (net)playing since the early MBAC era, and a couple of AA sessions with fellow European players (as scarce as they may be).

My mains are F-Mecha and F-Kohaku, and I'm pretty bad at the game. I'm enthusiastic about it however, and it's always good times when I get the chance to play it.

I use the alias Kohaku_ on the european IRC channel. See ya around!

Melty Breadcast / Re: Feedback Episode 8: We need you (suckah)!

If there's not much to talk about, just skip a week. I enjoy listening to the breadcasts, and I appreciate the effort you guys put into it, but don't try to force it if there's no content.

I can imagine the American scene stagnating, and the reasons are obvious. Here in Europe we only have about 20-30 players who're into this game, and big meetups don't happen more often than every few months. Let alone any tournaments. As long as the game won't get localized, or at least a current-gen console port, the playerbase won't increase at all. Deal with it, and appreciate the fact that America at least has a competitive scene, even if it is a dieing one.

As for content for future casts, a lot of the suggestions posted seem interesting enough. Maybe a topic on personal improvement would be cool. How do the pros practice for tournaments? Is it all about playing versus matches, or is grinding training mode the most important aspect? This has probably been touched upon earlier in interviews with known players, but I think it's a deep subject which a lot can be discussed about.

Hope you guys continue with the podcast!

Thanks for sharing. I'm one of the rare F-Kohaku players (or at least, learning her, and I'll see how it goes at the upcoming meet).

I've done some experimenting myself, and noticed that you can do some silly batou combos after random 236a hits. 236a 236c 236a 236c 236b (236c) works if you have the meter for it. It can also combo off 5[C] of course. Timing depends on opponent and distance, and the damage isn't too great. It looks awesome though :)

Her pressure and blockstrings / guardcrush don't seem to be too great. I've seen Japanese players use 22c -> *charge about 30 circuit* -> j.214[ b] -> land 5b5c22c -> etc etc. Sadly this doesn't work as well anymore, since she only drops 3 molotovs now instead of 4 (I think the videos were from the arcade version).

For maximum fun, do a plant into command throw into Arc Drive. Don't hit the opponent too much during the plant hitstun, because the opponent won't fly up high enough and you won't be able to whiff the broom swing.

Flying in all the way from the land of the Dutch, bringing dat EU scene!

Booked my tickets, so you can put me down as confirmed (Kohaku_, Shion, Ruud, whatever name works best for you). I'll be staying both days obviously.

I just made a little Kohaku CMV:

Don't expect any crazy 100-hit combos, just some basic stuff. Hope you like it!

I've been trying to do the corner loop into poison finisher for days now (C-Koha):

Code: [Select]
2a 2b 5cc (3 hits) 2c 4b 236ba 4b 2b 236ba 4b 5c 5[b] 2b 6c 236bc 5a 5cc 236[b] 22222c 2a 5c 6c j7.c (poison hits) 2[c] 236c
But what I don't get is, how do you link 5cc into 236[ b]? If I let the spin do all the hits, 236[ b] works perfectly fine, but the dummy will recover in the air before getting low enough for the 2a. If I put air recover off it might work as an invalid, but that's not how it's supposed to be done I assume. Trying to get a 236[ b] off right after the 2nd c doesn't launch the opponent high enough to pop the plant AND land a 2a. Has anyone actually managed to perform this combo, or seen it done anywhere?

Has anyone managed to perform this F-Koha corner combo:

Dash 5AAA 5B 5C 236C(1hit) 5C j.BC sdj.ABC airthrow

I end up in the wrong place (too high) after the j.BC, and I'm supposed to superjump to get even higher?
Tried it against V-akiha, can't get it to connect. Any advice?

Miyako Arima / Re: Miyako Vid Tutorial
« on: March 12, 2008, 06:19:23 AM »
Thanks for the tips. I'll try learning the harder and better combo's later on. Just trying to master the easier ones first :)

Anyway, I can manage 2C 5B 2B j.B j.B pretty consistently now. However, I don't seem to have enough height over my opponent to land the throw at the end :( Either that or I'm too slow.
It also seems like the guy in the vid makes a shorter jump than I do. I can't seem to cancel it out any earlier than I'm doing right now.

Alright, I tried to copy the first combo shown in the vid. Sadly, it doesn't work for me :(
After the 2C B 2B the enemy is tossed airborne, however is immune to damage it seems. I've managed to get one extra hit on it in he air, but nothing beyond ~6 hits :(

Anyone feel like schooling this nooby?

I'm a total beginner at this. Can't even beat arcade mode on 5 yet :|

I can host from Europe, if anyone wants to play let me know :)
