13 people 1 setup...? You should probably think how you're going to do a rotation. I'm starting to think you guys need some board games or something too lol

77
Southtown and Game Center EX are both very accessible by public transit, just google maps that shit

78
you know what would be great? if you all came out to an nci lol. eta sometime in july

also streaming/recording and getting some critique/commentary on your play might be something you guys should consider

79
8 people. 1 setup? :|
well if you only have 1 PS2 what can you do I guess

btw not all LCDs are created equal...

So it's $7/hr? And buy-in per person is $5?
If you're expecting 8 that's $40 which is close to enough for six hours... building up a tab eh...

negligible to change the time... english please...

80
Not that I'm going to be able to make it but here are a bunch of questions anyways...

I read on Dustloop that you are gonna play on a LCD. Is it going to lag with the PS2?

How many setups will you have? Also is there wifi at Game Center EX?

By contribute, you mean pay for the buy-in right?

And how many people are you expecting to attend so far?

81
alright well when you figure out some dates, post 'em and i'll try to come to those

82
all these players everywhere yet we only have so few requests for Melty at Southtown...

well unfortunately I'm pretty busy until June 21st. I will be busy the next two following weekends as well.

83
A crew? like you already have a crew of players in San Mateo? wat

they're just saying they could possibly have a port, thats in no way a confirmation at all...

yes they are simply saying they are considering it. of course they want to but they havent decided yet.

why are people linking this 3 day old tweet that doesnt mean anything everywhere god dammit i hate you guys D:

85
Sunday is kind of bad for most people but I'm out of school soon I guess. If they're only like a first-time newbie, I would give them a couple of free games. If they want to keep learning then they should pay.

86
I don't think the all hands on deck is a great or at least, necessary idea. You made this point earlier and it is how I feel about most players in the community. Can't get everyone to be serious enough about it.

Even southtown owners say it's likely if we get 30, only 15 would show for events or weekend plays. This is the PERFECT opportunity to show them all we're not full of BS.

Soooo, anyone in for the brainstorm or down to just be there?

Some flat screen monitors are really playable but you need the necessary resources. I want to get a Dell UltraSharp 1707fp myself for my ps2

87
My question of whether or not a projector lags still stands lol. I was thinking maybe a TV/monitor on some sort of stand... did you just say laptop????

88
Why a projector? Would a projector lag by the way? Also not charging anyone new who wants to jump in and try the game would be more attractive so we should probably figure something out there.

89
Personally I think we should have it at Southtown if we want to get more exposure. Also I just realized that I'm already busy for the weekend of June 25 and I have a lot of homework to get done in advance this weekend because I'm going out of town next weekend and I have a major paper due the day I get back :|

90
I talked to Southtown last night and it seems like they've only gotten a total of 12 supporters so far. Maybe with the ones that haven't talked to Southtown yet we might be at like 15 or 16. However this is a rather underwhelming number as I was kind of expecting more. We've also got a negative reputation against us (see Southtown Facebook page) which may honestly deter what potential players you could have gotten. It seems like you hella wanna get the game but the odds are rather stacked against you.

Anyways if we want to have like a Melty session at Southtown or something, the only weekend I might be free would be this weekend and I don't know if I can keep my June 25th weekend open. Don't count on me to help out in the flesh I guess but we'll see.

Sorry to double-post, but it's coming up to the do-or-die time. The arcade might reconsider with such little turn-out. I started a month or two ago with this push and nobody has sent them anything. All I am asking is that if you're a norcal player who wants Melty Blood at this arcade, all you have to do is the following:

1. Go to http://www.southtownarcade.com
2. Click the Contact Us page
3. Write "I am a serious Melty Blood player and I would like to see MB:AA:CC v. 1.05 at your arcade"

It's easy and that's all I really need! If you could do that, we'd all profit.
quoted again since any support that has been gathered won't be noticed unless everyone contacts southtown directly
you can also reach them via twitter @southtownarcade or on facebook

92
Well AA is a very playable game and is much more interesting than MBAC. But anyways, it seems that Southtown is aware of the risk they are taking and are waiting to see if more people will pledge their support first.

93
I do think it would be neat if Southtown got MBAACC but the most we can vouch for is how much we love the game, not how well it would actually be able to do. Speaking for a couple of players in the South Bay and reiterating my point, I am simply stating that the support we could offer if Southtown were to purchase MBAACC could be minimal at best. We simply don't want to create a false impression and lead Southtown to believe that we will be able to fully support them.

No local tournaments? San Jose might not be local to you but it was honestly the hotspot for Melty Blood back in its heyday. On multiple occasions we had players coming from San Francisco and Sacramento. We also had regulars coming from Berkeley, Fairfield, and Stockton. We even had a big tournament in Berkeley once where players also traveled from Pacific Northwest and SoCal.

If you want to garner some real support, your best bet is probably to hit up everyone that was truly local. However it seems that some of the SF guys have moved on as well. I think if you guys could get more locals interested, it wouldn't be at a loss. Maybe you should put up a flyer in the arcade and see if anyone else is interested. I'll try talking to a couple of people I know and gauge some more interest.

94
We aren't being pessimistic but rather realistic. Southtown is a business and buying a new game means taking a risk. Out of the arcade's best interests, we think Melty Blood wouldn't do well and have already advised Southtown a couple times that we don't think Norcal deserves it. Of course you can argue that this is the chance that Norcal deserves and that having a cabinet would be more exposure for the game and it is true that we have nothing to lose. However, we don't want to be held responsible for a business loss either.

We have been running monthly ranbats for Melty Blood in the South Bay and East Bay for over a year now. Unfortunately, the steam we had back from MBAC did not transfer over to MBAA. Most of our MBAC regulars have moved on and aren't going to come back. We used to have more than 16 people all the time and now we only get 8 at best. Sometimes we get less than 8 and we do a round robin.

I have never even seen you at a local tournament and I've probably been to every single local Melty Blood tournament for the past four years. Is it because you're in SF and the South Bay and East Bay are too far? If so, that's understandable. In fact, most of the what few players we have anyways do not have the time or money to consistently come show their support for Southtown. The most we could probably promise is making it out to a monthly ranbat which is unfortunately asking for another one of my weekends every month on top of NCI.

... you know 1.07 is coming out in July right?

Akiha Vermillion / Re: MBAACC V-Akiha

as of ver 1.05

C-V.Akiha
can combo off of airthrow into momiji (airthrow groundbounce 2A 2C momiji)
can OTG relaunch with EX momiji off of j.C (requires proximity) or B momiji (fullscreen corner-to-corner! dash 623C OK! )
pit duration seems significantly longer (the normal pit lasted for like 20 ingame seconds but the round ended so actual length is uncertain)
overall higher returns and better options for knockdowns/setups everywhere

Yes, F-Akiha usually opts for j.Ax# airdash j.Ax# jc j.Ax# j.2C to get more corner carry. The j.A lets her recover fast enough to do an airdash since full moon characters can't airdash cancel their air normals.

F-moon characters can airdash cancel jAs.
oic. so they can airdash cancel something. lol. shows how much i really know about this game
