Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Guard meter
« on: February 01, 2008, 01:54:36 PM »
Useless information:

There was an invisible guard meter in MB.  If you blocked enough attacks, your character would get a reddish tint and then get guard crushed and take 300% damage.

Vital Source when depleted made you dizzy, though not the traditional dizzy.  No air recovery whatsoever (though it's not like there wasn't more than enough stun anyway), longer hitstun on the ground, and possibly more stuff that I can't remember.

You could deplete Vital Source in several ways.  First and foremost, hitting the opponent did this very well.  Stuff like backdashing/dashing/airdashing decreased it, I think shielding did too.

Tougeki Damashii vol.8 have supposedly new info, as well as some new pics.

For the new pic, it seems that Executioner Ciel will be a playable character, and the temporary release date is in May. Also explains the different systems, but I'm not so good with my Japanese...

Edit: Someone who can actually read moonspeak can translate the comments on that page.  But here's what I can tell.

Crescent Moon Style:
Style for the experienced person who prefers mobility and combos.

Full Moon Style:
New style that emphasizes heavy attacks.

Halfmoon Style:
Simple style that is easy to use for beginners.

If people are incapable of saving replays, what makes you think they're capable of running config, remembering to close mb, starting up caster, and then selecting the correct caster option?   :V

How's the parking for this?  It's Saturday so hopefully it's free?  Any suggestions on best lot to park at?

Well for me a smaller pot is better than a larger one as I don't plan on winning.  :prinny: But as long as it isn't too big I don't care too much.  Maybe for once I can get Zaido to drive!  :toot:

CPP?

If it's at a good time and date, I'd go for the hell of it.  More info about how much and when it'll be is needed.

Does the team tourney even factor into the ranbat results or does it get ignored in favor of the singles?  :psyduck:

Says the guy who failed to place in the money the last three tourneys!    :psyduck:

Kryo: Just team with kijea again for WTX and you'll make all your money back and then some.  :teach:

a thought for future team tourneys: can a single person have multiple entries if using a different character per entry?

No, because Arly fears the lina^3 team.

how did NorCal do, or did they not show up this time?

With the exception of Nerina I don't believe Norcal made top 12.  I'm not sure however.

Have a look at the list here

13 teams + 1 single entry = 40 people

$5 x 40 = $200 payout to the top team.

1st Team Shishio Nerina (I did all the work)/hfblade (I kicked buzzsaw and scott off this team)/linalys (thanks for the free money guys) (warc/ciel/hisui)
2nd Team Korea arly (I quit shion for nero) /kijea (I LOST to nerina T_T) /kryo (KP!) (nero/mecha/warc)
3rd Team FU darknall (I carried this team)/zaido (I sucked because I play too much GG)/jeff (I sucked because I play too much WoW) (Nanaya/vshion/aoko)
4th Loliboxers jay^2/wicked element/numakie (kohaku/miyako/hisui)
6th Team Run Combofiend/Chaotic Blue/ID (Ciel/Arc/Nanaya)

I'm not sure who the other 6th place team was.  Maybe Team Blarg aka Team Norcal?

Someone with the brackets can post up.  GGs to all.

Special thanks to my team for doing 99.99% of the work.  I finally get my first tournament icon!   :toot:

Just to make it clear, none of these matches were recorded. If reps were not saved as requested then no one will ever see these matches ever.  Don't ask for vids! lol
