Tournament Results / Re: East Toast One FULL! Results

Props to Steve for being a cool fucking guy, I shouldn't have expected less from a friend of a mutual friend.
Tourney was run smoothly, and any problem posed seemed to be handled quickly by you.
Heavy Props.

Props to Kite_ and his boy Blaze for KiteRunning a 3 hour drive w/ a rental car to get out there and be MELTY. Kite, who I still don't know the real name of, is a chill motherfucker, fun to hang out a shoot the shit with. Blaze, who I also don't know the name of, is just as awesome, random keyboard MBAC WHAT'S GOOD. Both of these guys are chill as hell, and cool people to be around.

The rest of the North EC MB community.
In the game, you guys are pretty good, fun to play, fun to watch.
Outside of the game, you people are shitty company, speaking in whispers to each other and and rarely answering when spoken to. Can't carry out conversations, don't make new people feel welcome in any way, having invite-only sessions, you top-players basically shit on the EC community. You guys make the community feel like a clique that you have to prove you're worthy to even be part of.

I'm not saying this to make fun of you guys, and you guys (aka Chibi) can respond as hostile as you want.
I'm saying this because as a top-class tournament player in other games, I'm appalled at how badly you top-class players treat new people in this one. I'm not even sure one of you knows my name, even though I know all of yours. Sad, isn't it?

Maybe I'm not good enough to get you guys to be chill people.

I've gone out of my way to try to be chill with you guys, try to befriend you, and I've seen how shitty this community is two times... that's two times too many. I was hoping Battle by the Gazebo was just a fluke, but I wasn't so that fortunate. Lucky for me I've met enough chill MB people outside the Zar-circle to know that you guys don't represent the whole community, or I don't know if I'd keep playing. Seriously.

Oh, and "This Guy's" name is 'Hacker'.

tee hee, lol maestro chibster for making poking fun at me
I see what you did therez  :blah: :blah: :blah:
quotes around the word major to say "lol this isn't a major"
good times
lol
haiz!

It was a major for other games, and as MB among others were "Undercard Events"...
Was not a 'major', as you said, for it, or ggac, or basically any undercard event

also, i didn't "up and forget about it"
I 'cut' the "Melty Blood" from the "Undercard Events" and 'pasted' it into the sunday time-slot
 :slowpoke: :slowpoke: :slowpoke: :toot:
some people were a bit too stupid to see it, i guess, and thought I "up and forgot it"  :mystery:
so I put it back on the other list, and placed a high-tech  :prinny: ARROW INDICATOR :prinny: on the day and time

Just wanted to give you guys a comfortable, awesome environment to play melty and chill.
Cool that you saw a way to try to piss on that intention there too, chibiski
:::: you got skillz :::

If you get lost in the NYC transit system, you've fucked up somewhere in your life, and should go die.
They made the system so easy to use that not only do major stops hit multiple train lines, they're also letter coded AND THEN color coded.

Retard proof, even for the illiterate.

All of you are train noobs.

Take the train, to Penn station, then the subway to Canal Street.
Proceed to walk through a bit of Chinatown, to Mott street.

Ta da. Chinatown fair.

I guess it was my fault, mr. Zaelar.
Next time I'll remember to actually tell people it's in NJ.
Looking back, that's actually a pretty big oversight.

...oh wait, I posted that in here.
Are you saying that you read the tournament announcement thread, but not the Tri-State Area thread?
Or when a tournament is posted in here, you think it's in New Mexico or something?

I didn't have to dumb it down on any other forums.
They seemed to arrive just fine. Naruto, Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, lots of other games.
I didnt even post it on the GG forums, and people were asking me why I didnt post a NEW JERSEY tourney up.

Sorry, I guess you are the acting Spokesman of the [Least Coast Movement].

An NJ player who showed up gave me this nice bit of insight.

You guys complain about lack of tournaments / gatherings.
When one is posted, and is relatively easy to get to (This had ZOMG FREE HOUSING at the venue, $10 one time for catered breakfast / lunch / dinner AND STATION PICKUP guaranteed), you don't come.
Awesome logic. Counterproductive MAX.

XAQshinor, i love the enthusiasm but the NJ tournament was last weekend. Oh so very sorry.
Only one of you forum guys got down here, Makoto scrub. I'm glad you showed up, it was fun.
It was drinking, various games all over the place, Melty on a 60" HDTV + whatever random laptops were around, chill times with lots of chill people.

This is why East Coast will remain the Least Coast.

Edit: Jiyuna, you held that shielding pressure shit down at WTXI.
Omedetou. Congratulations. Nice job.

Team Crooked Jester is running its THIRD major tournament in just a few months! Our last major tournament, during Halloween Weekend only had 50-60 players, a paltry fewer than our first, but thats because there were two other major tournaments running in the tri-state area (NJ/NY/PA) in the same weekend. Players attending those tournaments have since lamented on how poorly they were run; our tournament was reported to have been run extremely well and all attendees were happy. Players have easy access to food, drink and even alcohol.

It's a fun time, that is not just about gaming, but most importantly about having fun and getting trashed with friends. Yes, I know I am announcing this tournament early, but since I didn't announce the last tournament early enough, we were hit with the sudden influx of other tournaments interfering with ours. So I figure, the sooner, the better! We hope to have players from all over attend this tournament, so I am giving housing oppurtunities firstly to players who are travelling extended distances.

TOURNAMENT RULES

    * Soul Calibur 3 will run nationaly accepted rules.
    * Narutimate Accel 2 will run standard SSR rules.
    * Tekken 5 DR will run nationaly accepted rules.
    * Virtua Fighter 5 will run nationaly accepted rules.

HOUSE RULES:

    * Squatting during casual play is prohibited (no calling "one more! rematch!")
    * You must take a shower before coming to our tournaments (no stinkers)
    * No smoking inside the house (thats what the garage and deck are for)
    * Be clean and courteous (clean up after yourself)
    * Don't walk in front of TVs when matches are being played.
    * Don't throw or punch the house sticks.
    * You can be banned from house stick use.
    * We reserve the right to ban people altogether.
    * We reserve the right to search anyone who is suspected of stealing.
    * Respect my house and other players in the tournament.

EQUIPMENT:

Crooked Jester does have their own house sticks! However, it is recommened that you bring your own controllers or sticks because each stick has a personal feel... and personally I would rather not people keep on breaking all of my sticks. The tournament will be run on 4 big screen televisions; as well as any other televisions we can get our hands on for the weekend. One 48" RCA Proscan SDTV, two 50" Sony WEGA SXRD HDTVs and a 38" Sony WEGA SDTV. Any match recorded on the main screen will be recorded and put on the web for download. You may request to not have your videos open to the public; in which case they will be posted on a private section of this forum open only to Crooked Jester tournament regulars.

FEES:

Since the tournaments will be on console, there will be a tournament fee and house fee. The house fee is seperate from the games, so the entire entree fee for tournaments will go to the pot. I dont know the exact number of people we expect to have at this tournament; so I dont know how much space I will have to house people. Unless you have cleared it with an NJ local to stay at their place for the weekend, you should make your own accomodations for housing.

    * $10 Main Events
    * $5 Undercard Events
    * $10 Mandatory House Fee!

Please don't be late. If you are going to be late, call us before hand so we can hold the start till you arrive. If you have been to one of our tournaments before, you should have recieved someone's phone number in which you can contact.

And... it's totally unblockable for a LOT of damage for one hit.

Like, EX move-type damage.
And armor for 1 hit.

Doesn't that change the comments about her rushdown pressure?
Even if it doesnt usually give momentum... that shit hurts.
And.... it's really, really, really not blockable.

P.S. If one of you says "just shield it", I'll stab you.

I'm not the best person to be asking this, but...
Why was Arcueid's 5{C} unblockable left out of the guide?

I thought this was a fairly important move...

Mike, just come to NJ.
You can practice all 3 with me.

Well, 3S might give me issues, but otherwise you're fine.

42
I'm almost sure it was you.
I sat there watching Rob get massacred, wondering what those orbs were doing.
Wondering why the left side char had 3 air jumps and 2 airdashes.
Thinking that watching Aoko hit someone was so god damn RAW.

I went up and asked inbetween one of your matches "Who's the best character in the game", to be answered by Rob "Sion".
But from what I could see, he was getting obliterated.
Being that I'm not new to top-level fighting games, I could tell the difference in ability.

White. Shaved head. Sorta lanky. Beast Aoko.
Anyone else fit that description?
PM me with the hookup.

43
I've only been part of this community and played the game for 3 weeks now.
Just a quick question, Z;
Are you the Aoko player I watched casual with HeartNana's Sion for awhile at NEC?
Tall-ish, sorta lanky, short hair, playing on the left side?

Because shit, if that was you,
just know that watching you play him is what made me pick up this game in the first place.

Aoko is/was my main, but since I couldn't find anyone or any way to help me improve with her, I moved onto another character I want to learn, Asuka Langley Sohryu Sacchin.

But this sounds like it would benefit me greatly, if you're willing to put time into a scrub like me.

DR?
You're not Delnar.
You're not even Ramon.
Don't live in a dream world.

3S?
You could almost count it, if my amateur ass didn't barely lose to you through nothing but mistakes in input.
But it's close.

And you can keep taking your foot, and placing it into your mouth with every post you make.
Cause I don't remember putting my feelings into that last post, other than appreciation at the end.
*Shrugs* Your intranetz speak does nothing for me.

Eventually, with enough Foot-in-mouth status from you, you'll refrain from complaining about everything and anything.
This beef wasn't even with you, stop bothering me.

[Posterboy Status!! Big time SON!!!!]

Oh, I met LordKnight today at UP!
He's really quiet in person, apologies were presented to the great KiD.D, and were accepted because like I said, people aren't assholes in person. Sometimes. Maybe. On occassion.

But he made sure to rape me for 3 hours in Melty, and I think I understand how offensive the game is now.
Mad Rape Status = LordKnight... for now.

I'm sure the opinions of your friends are dear and true to you, but they are not FACT by any stretch.

Now, I'm not sure how you became the Ambassador of Fighting Games (AFG for short), but I'm sure you don't speak for the rest of the fighting game community.

Which stick and buttons each person uses is a preference.

Some people like HAPP, others like Sanwa, and some even like Seimitsu.
Some champions, like myself, use a combination of Sanwa and Happ
Other champions, like Justin Wong, use all Happ for every game they play (MvC2, 3rd Strike, Arcana Heart, Guilty Gear, T5:DR <--sometimes he switches for DR, but that's not 2D)
And some champions, like LinkRkc, can't live without Sanwa.

Some like square gate, some like octagonal, some like a straight circle.
Some like a red stick, some like a white, some like a blue.
Some like straight buttons, some like angled, and some like weird "the thumb button is really far away from the rest" buttons
Some people even like to use Hori based sticks over Sanwa and Seimitsu (the IDIOTS, GOD!! :p )

As you can see, it's perfectly natural for people to have different preferences about their setups.

But I'm sure the Happ sticks is the reason why there haven't been many new people haven't played the game that has only been there for a week... oh wait, we do play. Sorry, I almost forgot.

Could you please stop throwing around your opinion (and, by proxy, that of your friends) as fact?
I'd appreciate it, thanks.

You know, I said I wasn't gonna reply to you.
But wow, I can't let you just bash the break like that.

Every game other than T5:DR has Perfect 360 Happ Joysticks.
If you do play Marvel, you should know that these are the stick of choice in MASS sticks, and a perfect 2D fighting stick.

But I do appreciate your input, and your personal opinion on some of the nation's best sticks ever.

And MeltyClient is the Win.
The end.
