Ok. I'll probably stop by sometime around 7 (assuming Dippy's ok with that). I may also invite Ryan since I think he still wants to try some stuff out against Chie in P4A before Evo.

GGs to everyone last Thursday. I still suck at Melty.

And yeah, that's probably a record for the shortest time playing a fighting game. =/ Sorry Tempered, I hope you didn't want to play more BB or LM. I think I was just tired.

I wouldn't use F-Akiha as a measure of how you're doing in MB unless you play one of the characters that has solid answers to her corner game and can force the match to constantly go back to neutral.  Getting knocked down and dealing with her bullshit is one of the things I've (thankfully) never had to do, and the only real "answer" I've seen for most characters (not counting waiting for me to screw up) is to just make a choice and do it, no hesitation, because patience can get you killed.  And pray you picked the option that'll get you out instead of getting hit and going right back where you started.  I won't lie, her corner game makes up for a decent chunk of "skill" for the rest of the game.  Getting forced into the corner with a pit under you is really a nasty place to be for most characters; you weren't doing too badly so long as you managed to avoid getting locked down, which is something.  Also, you weren't free to my currently terrible F-Satsuki, so you're not that bad, even if some of it was simply a degree of boneheadedness on my part.

Edit:

First super-solid Testament I've seen in +R.  Finally have someone who consistently puts MoP to good use instead of using it "just cuz" and not really doing anything with it half the time.  Really makes me reevaluate Testament's otherwise-lacking corner damage options.  The Faust matchup just got brutal on all counts.  Nasty business.

So we were kinda pressed for time during the session the other night because we all met up so late. Planning was kinda messed up due to the logistics. I was hoping to get some +R time in but was unable to due to time constraints. Would anyone possibly be available for a last minute/cram session on Wed. night? iirc none of us are leaving until noon on Thurs. I could probably get out 1-1.5 hours early on Wed. night and my packing would be done on Tues. I believe Carlos was going to put in a little training time with Maori? If so I guess it could serve as a quick crash course and we could get in a little +R time beforehand. But would this work for anyone? This all sounds rushed because my thought process is all jumbled up right now.  :psyduck:

Working till 10:30 that night.  Not sure how that works into plans.

Dippy, do you have a room at the venue this year?  I should probably figure out where I need to be before I get there.  Seems like it might be a good idea.  Probably.

10:30? If I'm unlucky with ending work early, you wouldn't be arriving much later than I would.

Honestly, my thought in regards to this is that you should just pack your stuff before you go to work tomorrow, come to my place after work and spend the night here. It doesn't make much sense for you to leave late at night, go home, and end up coming back in the morning (during rush hour!). For Wednesday, you can come by and play for as long as Tempered will put up with it (which sounds pretty damn late, talking to him).

I have a room at the LVH/Westgate (the damn name just changed!); we're saying at the hotel Evo is taking place at.

So cram session is good to go tomorrow night? Let's do this!

I know that staying overnight would make sense economically, but I already agreed to give my brother a ride to work in the morning and there's some quick shopping I need to do afterwards. Depending on when I leave tomorrow night/morning, rush hour may not be in effect. It will definitely be gone by the time I need to head back. I may not even get any sleep before we leave which is fine because I can save it all for the trip. :|

So we are staying at the hosting venue for Evo. I told a few of my old SoCal friends that I was staying there but wasn't 100% sure but it wouldn't have been much to correct myself.

I'm definitely good for Thursday. As to what we plan on playing, I can't really say for sure. It might just be that time after Evo when things just slow down and there's not too much of a focus. I mean there is UNIEL next week though. I'm down for the usual +R, MB, AH3LM. Chaos Code I can't say for sure. I think I've left my mark on that game at this point. I was actually practicing VF stuff really late Sunday night, but I  dunno. I'd prefer any combination of the first 3 titles that I listed though.

I still have that sinking feeling that when UNIEL and P4U2 come out I'll be the only one around here who'll still have any interest in AH3LM. :-\ Prove me wrong.

dippy, when you have the chance, let me know how much I owe you for the hotel room + gas. Also, Tempered, Carlos, and I also intend to split the cost for a digital copy of UNIEL so let's see if we can get that squared away so when it's here, all we need to do is download it when we all meet up the following week, provided it's the same day. By that I mean, setting up the JP PSN account, and deciding when/how to add the necessary funds.
