I want to move to a state that has seasons instead of hell for eight months of the year followed by four months of fall. And I'm not even sure hell counts as a season

I don't suppose I could trouble you for a shopping list? Fresh bay leaves and coconut milk are a given I imagine, but should I get curry powder, or paste? Do we want a chicken curry, or a vegetarian one? If vegetarian, should it have tofu in it? And which vegetables? What sort of peppers?

I think I have a bag of jasmine rice on hand. I'll check it again when I get home from work.

I look forward to your input, I think the curry should be one you'd enjoy eating

will the ranking battles be double elim or round robin?  one day, or over the whole weekend?  keep in mind we all have diff. work schedules, so we may have to allow more than one day of tournament so some people can get matches in.

Curry list
Overbuying a little is kinda-sorta necessary, as curry has to be adjusted while cooking so it tastse right for everyone. I'm going to make a lot, so make sure you guys leave room in your stomaches. Also, we don't have to use all of the stuff I'm going to list here if you guys are picky.

3lbs Chicken Breast
2 onions
1 garlic clove(Powder is a cheap substitute. I refuse to accept that. :|)
3-4 carrots
5 potatoes
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 apple
1 bar of chocolate(Or some Hershey Kisses...not much chocolate is needed.)
1 stalk of celery

The bay leaves and coconut milk are things I've never tried using before, but we can go with them. Also, make sure you have ample amounts of rice - jasmine and white both work. Two packets of the S&B brand of curry mix should be fine. It'll probably take half an hour to fourty minutes to get all of this done. Any suggestions/input are welcome.

How exciting: I've never heard of chocolate in a curry, while you've never heard of bay leaves and coconut milk! I'll be sure to get every item on that list.

Chocolate! Reminds me of mole. Half-ass on the subject, I've heard of peanut butter in curry, but every time I've tried to incorporate the stuff into my curries the peanut butter overwhelms every other flavor.

When would you prefer to cook- Friday dinner, or Saturday brunch/lunch? I'd like to invite my brother over for the experience so he can meet everyone, and also enjoy someone else's cooking. He's used to cooking for other people, see. Ask him about pot stickers

Peanut butter is supposed to be used in very, very small amounts when you put it in curry :x Just barely enough to give a hint of the flavor.

As for when the stuff will be cooked, whichever is more convenient for you is fine. Though curry for breakfast is a little odd.
