Can anybody give me the address?  I want to go check it today since I have the rest of the day off.

Edit: Wait, where's the taunt button?

For the moe department, I suggest Eternal Fighter Zero or Vanguard Princess instead :D

1600 Holloway Avenue, in the student center basement. Start is placed between the stick and buttons, above them.

How far above...?  Is it next to the stick?

It is the same cabinet that was once at SJSU if you ever played on that.

How old are the buttons on this stick? They work well when they do, so I'm suspecting loose or weak contacts on just two of the non-Melty Stepmania buttons.

I have no clue what you mean by "non-Melty Stepmania buttons". The blue sanwa buttons are probably approaching 2 years, although they didn't really get played on too heavily. They had to be soldered in so that might be what is getting loose.

ugh on-board soldering isn't fun at all, why would you subject yourself to that?

Oh and make sure it's the buttons and not one of the resistors. Yar had an issue where a directional wasn't registering unless you apply pressure on the board and it turned out to be a cracked resistor on the other side of the pcb. The only reason I found it was because it broke in half when i heated it.

There's nothing to fear now.

Well essentially, I just meant the buttons that see less use in general. I think it is just a loose contact though, thanks for the warning. ;D
I'm just an avid and picky SM player that would subject himself to on-board soldering just because of one or two blank registers every thousand keypresses.

I really wouldn't waste money modifying or repairing that stick further, just use it until you can afford a better, more easily modified stick.

If you're good with a soldering iron, on-board soldering isn't that bad. It's not really necessary in most cases.
<LoliSauce> I bet they'd make them for the opportunity to get any other form of currency!

Watch/post in the NorPor: KJAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! thread, that is where SJSU/San Jose sessions are usually discussed.

The next SJSU session should be happening on Saturday, February 13th.  Otherwise, yeah, follow the NorPor thread for further information.  It's the thread that south bay-related discussion happens in.
