If you live in DFW, there is a group of players in Denton that hosts meet-ups pretty much every week, but usually on Saturdays. And also, Mightfo/Frigid from dustloop hosts meet-ups in North Dallas that we go to as well, also usually Saturdays. Also, we've gone to the house of goons' meet-ups in Plano on Friday, but not so often. But if you can make it to Denton on Fridays only, I'm sure you could find some players to play.

I still have to talk to everyone here to find out where we are going to play this weekend. Some people went home for the break.

Okay then. We will be going to Frigid's in North Dallas this weekend then instead of staying in Denton. I don't know the address, so if you need it, best to PM Cookie or Pfhor. But if you PM me, I'm going to get the address from them anyways so, I guess it doesn't matter.

Hey Tim, I need your help on something. I found this amazing glitch but don't have any means of uploading it to youtube. How do you do that? I have a few other match vids I want to post up as well too.

Also, if I hosted a weekend-long gathering here, would anybody be interested in coming by? I got lots of booze to go through, and no one but myself to drink it unfortunately

Well, youtube is linked to google now, so I think you have to have a g-mail account. Then just make an account with youtube, and you can upload stuff. If you mean converting replays into a format that is playable on a media player, then all you need is fraps. It costs money to get, I forget how much, like $20 or something. You would use fraps to record the replays as you play them back using the MBAACC program. If you don't want to get that stuff, then you can just e-mail the replays to me, or otherwise upload them to a public site for download. Then I can record the stuff you want and just upload it to my youtube. I can hook you up with some software for encoding and show you how to use it to upload vids to youtube, when I go down there.

Thanks a lot Pete. I'll take that to mean that if we come to the Showdown event, that we can stay at your place and commute to the event, and that you will be going too.

I think that if we go and pay for the venue fee, that we are going to go to the venue all weekend to get our money's worth.

Yeah, I was thinking like next weekend, on the 31st through the 1st. But that's only a week before Texas Showdown, so it might be kind of awkward to have you guys come two weekends in a row. Maybe sometime later in April / May? I gotta let Matt and Chris know too (hope they're reading this board).

Just to let ppl. know, I plan on driving down to Houston for the Texas Showdown event running from the 6-8th of Apr.

You should talk to CPhame aka Pete to see if he is free that weekend. I'll do my best to come down then and play, and bring some people with me too. I won't be able to make it to Houston until that Friday at the earliest though. So you might want to do some sightseeing in Houston Wednesday and Thursday. Or see if Pete can take you to PZ, the arcade there in Houston. There are more, local MB players there that I haven't met yet.

Pete: This might be a good weekend to host stuff, if you can.

We will be hosting a meet-up this Tuesday. So if people have some free time, come out and play.
It will be at Pat's in Denton. Time will likely be 3pm-ish, but may be later depending on when people get off from work. I'll post again with the time when we decide.

This weekend there will be 4 of us from DFW driving down to Houston for Texas Showdown. There may be a couple more that decide to come last min., but 4 is the number I have now. We will leave Denton around 4:00-4:30pm and arrive in the evening. It'll be a lot of traffic, I expect, until we get south of Dallas, so maybe a little longer than 4 hours travel time.

Just a quick note to everybody coming on Friday: bring something to sleep on. It's only been a month since the last time, and I don't have a whole lot of stuff for people to sleep on (at best, for only a couple of people at most). I mean, I've only upgraded the apartment modestly, so please, please, bring some sleeping bags. And toothbrushes.

Also, booze. This is a weekend for melty I'm sure, but I'm really only in this because...anime weekend. Last weekend we had a Japanese festival (which was loads of fun) but this week is where we nerds get to truly splurge. I hope everybody is ready!

Gonna be loads of fun. Get hype, Texas!
