really? maybe for Evo videos we can collaborate something? like really nice quality.
I use PNG files for my overlays, and premiere for all my video editing. Encoding i've got down, unless you can beat a quad-core. I think, i'm looking for a typesetter that can draw out the brackets real nice. I'm also looking for someone who knows Adobe Aftereffects to make moving transitions and clipping masks. Magz was good with the sound stuff for wt4, but i want to find some good alternatives to record melty at evo.
I was thinking that we should make use of a video camera to do a recording of the players during the matches as well so that we can pull of something akin to the SBO style of video where the players are shown before the match, at the end of each round, etc. Combine this with the actual replay footage and the commentary and you've got something really fun to watch (more so than usual).
As for the bracket drawings, all you really need is the bracket layout as a still image and for the actual names you can just show a zoomed portion of the bracket layout with the names done by fade-in to show the person moving on to the next part of the bracket or a gray-out to show that he was knocked after that match, etc. That should work just fine IMO unless you want to do something more intricate.
I'd also like to take the time right now to say thanks to the guys from socal that made this a great first west toast for me:
hdphnz/jr. Santos/Zantua: It was cool hanging out with you guys over at FFA. Thanks for cheering me on in that GGAC tourney, lol. Can't wait for FFA to get MBAC vB2 on a nice H2H cab with sanwa parts. I'd bus down there on a tournament day in a heartbeat.
hdphnz: Your satsuki improved quite a bit from the last I saw of her. PSYCHIC DP, ARGH! Can't wait to have more matches with you at Evo. Your commentary is fucking hilarious. Anyone who's reading this will know exactly what I'm talking about when Scott posts the vids. "Dude, I might be impotent for years after that last match." XD
jr. Santos: Those overheads! Those orbs! Damn! Definitely need to casual with you at Evo as well.
Arlieth: Potatoes with sour cream and applesauce?! THIS IS MADNESS! Major thanks for driving, housing, "busting out the air conditioner", and randomness after 4AM on Sunday (you didn't have to do that, but I'm really grateful for it). When I first met you in person over at AX, you seemed like a really scary kind of person, lol. But damn, all preconceived notions of you were thrown out the window from day 1 -.-" I'll be practicing and learning more about that denjin ryu you introduced me to even though 3s looks like a real daunting game =X
Scott: Good stuff during the tournament and also at the causals on Sunday. It's always a fast-paced, thrilling battle against your Ciel.
Leo: You get more solid every time I see you play Satsuki. Screw what people who've never played you might think. Your sacchin is top tier on my list. Oh, and just like Arly, you also seemed like a pretty scary person when I was playing you at AX. Although that kind of image disappeared instantly as well -.-" It's unfortunate you couldn't make it to Scott's on Sunday. I was looking forward to playing some more casuals with you. Oh well, it's only 4 more days until Evo.
H-F Blade: I don't think I played you at all >_> I've heard a lot of good things about your Ciel from other people and damn, those 2C mixups of yours are freaking terrifying even from just watching. It'll be interesting to see how both you and Scott stack up to Zaeler at Evo.
Kryojenix: You're one of the two people I got to play during the prelims (the other being Scott) due to my bye count being near if not over 9000 >_> I had some good and close matches against your Warc both during and after the tournament.
Numakie: Fearsome Hisui is fearsome. GL on your MM with Chibi at Evo.
To anyone else who I might have forgotten, thanks for the games, I only wish I could have played you all some more. Looking forward to WT7!
