Someone was asking "when has a Sion in the US placed in a [major] tournament?", someone gave them an answer, and I said small, local tournaments don't really count for anything. Placing in a major tournament >>>>>>>>>>>>>> placing in a local tournament between you, mostly your friends, and local comp.

I understand that, but how do you determine what a "major" is? Having more than a certain amount of players? Having X people come from out of town? Who/what sets the standard for that? All of that aside, I'd just like to point out that majors had nothing to do with the original question, unless I'm reading it wrong. Of course, this all depends on your definition of "placing" and that's just a whole other pile of shit that's not worth getting into.

Edit: Sorry, the way I phrased my earlier statement was a little much.
