Final Round XI in Atlanta, GA [3/16/2008]

Final Round is the major fighting game tournament of the southeast, usually taking place in the spring. This have already announced pans for this years event (six months in advance, wtf) and Melty Blood is currently not on the roster. However, after a small shitstorm on shoryuken.com, the game has been brought up for consideration. I've been asked to gauge interest in a Melty Blood tournament there, if it were to happen.

Final Round is one of the longest running tournament series in America, and a strong showing here would be a significant boost to the community as a whole, especially in the south, where there are a lot of fighting game players and a disproportionate lack of MB players (to my knowledge).

Update: Melty Blood is now an official game at Final Round XI.

I'm going to final round for 3rd or some shit probably, but I'd really rather there be a MBAC tournament there.

Also, as for the disproportionate lack of MBAC players in the south, I'm working on NC. I have maybe a handful of people I can play with regularly at school, as well as another handful of people who will play at gatherings here.

Actually I was hoping you'd come with me, I was probably going with Min again. At the most the trip would probably cost you $300 overall if you were to buy tickets last minute ($200+) and pay say $60+ for a room when splitting it with other people.

And I don't know how long the poll is going to be there but things aren't looking hot for MB anyway.

I just booked another BALLroom at the hotel for SUNDAY, so we can have the melty blood tournament now!!! Now I will say I don't have MB nor do I know anyone in the ATL that can let me borrow it for FRXI. If someone wants to bring the game i'll allow it at FRXI on sunday. Also I want to run the a3 and a2 tournaments. Both will be capped at 32 man so we can get it over with fast due to time.

Can players who are planning on attending please pre-register with ShinBlanka over on shoryuken.com? While it was hype to overshoot the pre-regs at NEC by ~50%, it does mess with planning and he seems to be a real nit about these things.
