I had fun, learned a lot. This is my first time playing Ren against anyone besides Lina in years, and a first for MB competition since I went to Epic myself a couple years ago. Now that I don't have to work to try and build a scene like I did with ReACT (that didn't go too well cause ReACT... well, sucked) it's easier for me to just relax and have fun playing. I definitely plan to swing by and play more in the future, though Arlieth seriously needs to get ver.B or run everything wholly at Interface so we can do PS2 instead.
I don't feel like I played very well during the tourney, and my part in the videos will be lackluster. I did considerably better the day after playing Arlieth in casuals, but nobody was recording, so it's a moot point.
Arlieth: I think you should play Spooky and Saiyd and see what happens. I also need to play you more and explore the options I have in that matchup, as I feel if I can handle Nero as Ren I should be able to handle a lot of other characters.
hdphnz: Good stuff with late-night sleep-dep Kouma. I finally started getting things a little bit, things don't click for me very quickly in fighting games so I had to drill it in over the course of those games.
Chibi: I was never first in MB (even back in the day) and it isn't going to happen unless I pick a stronger character, which... probably isn't going to happen. I play Kouma for shits and giggles but I ran Ren most of the time since I'm the most comfortable with her. I think as long as I keep playing I can hold my own well enough, and considering I'm using one of the worst characters, is actually better than average. The biggest thing is probably that I'm actually playing again on a somewhat-serious level (considering I drove 105 miles up to FFA, another 10 miles to Interface, slept for 3 hours on a DDR machine, and spent $75 on a Motel 6 room to play an extra day, and will be flying up to New York next week to play even more).
