I need to address something with you guys.
No offense but you're shoving more support for UP - they've had verB2 for a while now, and none of us want an outdated version .
This is a somewhat pushy reply to someone who was trying to contribute to the community. I actually felt a bit offended by it. If Kid.D didn't reply the way he did, I'd have told you to dial it down a bit.
Flipped out cause I said the word "fuck you" a couple times?
He said what he said like an asshole.
You said it in the way a person who isn't an asshole explains it.
He wouldn't have said it like THAT to a strangers face, cause then there'd be a chance that they would've responded the way I did.
It's about $900 for the machine with version A installed.
It's almost another $1000 to get the vB2 update installation software.
And Master Chibi, I'm going to UP this weekend for the first time.
You can check the place out if you want, but at least this weekend you don't have to force yourself; I'd rather meet all the players I can at once.
And you, sir, shouldn't take things so personally. Please keep the cursing on this board to a minimum. Nobody here really knows you, and you didn't handle his reply very well. I know you had the best of intentions when you posted about Eight on the Break's ver.A, but you come across as someone with no class with replies like that. People can't respect that. Just remember that this is the internet and A)nobody really means disrespect like they would in person, and B) whatever you say here never goes away, so you'll thank yourself later for keeping your cool.
I understand the risks and costs associated with the coin-op business (I'm a manager at an arcade and we only have ver.A too, but we have PCs with ver.B). A location with ver.A is better than no location at all, since it helps to raise awareness of the scene. Also Chibi, there is no need to get elitist with the Happ/Japanese controls when people are eventually looking to get the game at home anyways. That's like being a snob about the plastic baggy that your gram of weed came in.
I don't think people will travel long distances to 8/Break for Melty, but it should drum up some interest, Kid.D. Point them to Melty Bread wiki(thanks Motoh) and forums for advice and strategies, and if you plan on holding tournaments for Melty Blood (use PC ver.B2), that's what'll draw out-of-towners in to show the arcade owner that there's definitely promise for a ver.B2 arcade cabinet.
