Akiha's Tea Room / Re: On shortcomings, and overcoming them.

Playing on a keyboard is no excuse! You're a disgrace to keyboard crushers!

Earlier written on the trip back...
It's about 11am and I haven't been able to get much actual sleep on the Megabus but I've got some physical rest I suppose. I spent something around 30 minutes reflecting on how memorable this West Toast was for me, even if I didn't play much. I was gonna hold it all in my head and write it when I get home and then I realized I had a laptop in my backpack.

Arlieth: Thanks for driving us around, that curry tonkatsu ramen was some of the best I've ever had and the tonkatsu was top notch. Man, I don't think you let your guard down at all in the tournament, I was predicting that H-FBlade and Magz were gonna do better but you were always conscious of their options and always made the right decisions, and you were an extremely entertaining player to watch. I never saw you give H-FBlade a single chance to bust out EX Hiero.

Psylocke and Leo: Where were you guys?!

Numakie: Your Hisui has incredibly levelled up from what I can tell since the last time I saw you at EVO. I underestimated you in my predictions.

H-FBlade: Man I thought your Ciel was hot stuff at EVO but you weren't lying when you said you weren't in shape then. It looks like you've levelled up (or at least performed much better) and become even more solid. From what I could tell, the most significant difference was that you made much better decisions. Those combos are beautiful but those wakeup reversal supers man...

Desert Coast + Lokanas: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS?!

Kryojenix: Mech-Hisui is pretty interesting! I think you should've performed better though or maybe I should've done some awesome praying again.

Tsubasa, Sataya, Buzzsaw, LastElixir: You should've just eaten with us at Denny's.

Tsubasa: BAD HEATS. You need safe heat setups!

Buzzsaw: YOUR COMBOS ARE UGLY, GO TO PRACTICE MODE. You'd probably be actually able to beat Magz (and not to mention give us all that much more of a challenge) at SJSU if you had those down, I hope you took some notes watching Scott and H-FBlade. Good job on getting as far as you did.

Okay man I swear I had more to write and more people to write about... yeah okay keeping things in your head is a bad idea. Thanks to everyone for coming out and making this a memorable experience for Norcal. Until next time, 'cause I'll be learning that stick yo.

Pretty epic Ciel figure. Maybe it's just the picture but her right boot looks kinda weird to me.

You should replay anyways if there was a desync and upload your own replays to back up what you said.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: Keyboards for tournaments: Yes or No?
« on: September 12, 2007, 11:01:30 AM »
Note: This does not make up for the fact that keyboards are a pain in the ass to setup and an eyesore.
I learned to play default keyboard controls and adapted at EVO because I wanted the tournament to run as smoothly as possible and I didn't want to whine about not having the patch. I can now play both controls (1P & 2P) to the same degree as my old custom controls.

Keyboard users aren't handicapped at all, in fact some difficult techniques are easier to pull of on keyboard. Veteru and I were having some keyboard duels (both of us on keyboards) and something I can do on keyboard easily that is very difficult to do on stick is TK 7 ribbons with Akiha.

I also have this stupid dream of going to Tougeki though so I've started to learn stick. I mean it sounds pretty stupid that I want to play Melty competitively with a keyboard. Everyone should pick up a pad at least and if you've got the money, go for a stick 'cause going at it in the arcades is what it's really about.

EDIT: Clarified a few things that seemed vague.

Lag isn't actually hardcore for him, he still gets 55+ FPS and I don't see him complaining about lag.  (I know him.)
Okay well if you're in Germany you can't really complain about lag. It's more about his opponents complaining about possible lag.

Yes we do have SWR caster but not BBB

Who else is planning on going? Will it be the same group as it was on the 2nd at the convention? Or will there be more people??
There will be a few more players from our side probably?

Oh, uhhh For SJSU do I need to bring my stick?
Unless you intend on using someone else's...

Holy crap now that I look at this thread, your room is fscking packed man. You were not kidding at the IHOP table. My room is bare empty. And that's not in comparison either. Maybe after I refurnish it, that Akiha figurine might be my first purchase.

This one is a big MAYBE for me. I start Davis on the 24th, and I'm not really sure if I can leave when the first week's workload is on board, as well as moving stuffs.

~Chun
I start Foothill on the 24th as well but with two ~6hour bus trips, I think I can manage to get most of the homework I get assigned done during those trips along with naptime. You also get Friday night and Sunday night still I suppose. But then again you're probably going to spend  some time commuting from Davis to the Megabus.

It is worth. When i play with friends (some are from europe) we use a hight FS and we get a fps of 50. There is almost and somethime no lag at all. If its lag its minor. And its better than play versus comp all the time :P.

We even created an IRC channel on irc.deltaanime.net server and the channel is #meltyblood come join us ^^.
There's already #SRM on mint.sayuri.ca and it is the largest Melty netplay community in existence.

I'm gonna be doing the same thing as magz and Tsubasa, I don't want to be missing class and all.

I believe it was a ham and cheese melt.  Or, as I like to call it, a Melty Ham & Cheese.
Melty Ham and Eggs iirc?

Hi, I was the keyboard crusher playing as Akiha Tohno. Pot distro needs to be reworked.

@Spirit Juice: We moved to the garage but we stopped at 9:30 due to complaints =( afaik we didn't do shots per game!

Start a new thread for the results in the appropriate forums once you're ready!

-HEAT for barely eating it and he was gonna waste it
