Mmm. Fair enough.

Get your ugly sleep then, as I call it.

...Though oddly enough the last two days I've woken up completely naturally after sleeping for only about six hours. I'm used to sleeping six, so that's no big; the odd thing is usually if I sleep naturally I get the full eight.

That's why I said "Major" revisions for Street Fighter. I'm not counting World Warrior, Champion edition, etc. because those all got "updated" later and so they no longer "count." In II's case, the latest would be, depending on your views, Super Turbo, Hyper SFII, or HD Remix. And 3rd Strike 2? Someone will have to enlighten me on this... probably something dumb like "The home ports got rebalanced."

The EX games aren't part of the main line; Arika made those, not Capcom.

Why does the design look like a hybrid of Sacchin and some other timid girl?

That's because Takeuchi wasn't that of an awesome kickass back then. Now he is.
Mostly this. As for who she's crossed with? Probably Shijyou Tsukasa.

Lio: Press D when selecting Ryougi.

Old pun is old.
How the fuck is this a pun? A joke, sure... but a pun? Where's the play on words?

Or is this the whole point of the joke, that it's nonexistent? If that's the case, it's a horrible joke.

I'm pretty sure Street Fighter would have a far larger community than Tekken, which is comparatively new.

Of course I'm basing my argument on SF having been around for over three decades, not actual statistics (which I would love to see if they exist)
......What.

  • Tekken 1 - Released in arcades in 1994. Six games (Eight, if you count enhanced versions of T5 and T6) in the main series, plus two Tag Tournaments, 3 spinoffs (Death by Degrees, Card Challenge, Advance), and of course, the two Street Fighter x Tekken games. Total: 15 games in ~17 years once the two Street Fighter x Tekken games come out.
  • Street Fighter 1 - Released in arcades in 1987, so closer to 25 years than 30. Four games in the main series by "number", but six if you count in Alpha games (I, A2, A3, SSFII, SFIII, SSFIV) and 10 if you must count all major revisions. Lots of spinoffs. Total: 21 games in 24 years once the two Street Fighter x Tekken games come out.

Tekken is younger, yes, but "Comparatively new?" Melty and GG are both newer than these games, and pretty much anyone who's heard of a fighting game has played a Tekken at some point.

Yes, but yours is probably a MP3/Ogg soundtrack. And doesn't loop forever. Whereas the SNES version is a teeny, tiny, 105k and the Genesis version is a bit over half a megabyte. :)

Plus the game never had an official soundtrack so any sort of soundtrack would have had to come from the game itself, anyway.

3d? what? :emo:

why will you change a game which is fun just to turn it into a simple graphicwhore game like all others they're launching endlessy everyday for years now? this way of thinking was what almost killed fighters once, because no one likes 3d fighters but (very) casual players.

seriously, if you guys really like 3d that much go and play another game and leave MB for us who likes fighters in its true and best form: 2d. you can always play wii and download the last-gen mmo's and quit it when they launch a newer anyway, cant you?
Your displeasure is noted.

Yeah, I own it for SNES.  lol.  Thanks for all the effort in supplying the song.  =>
Well, I aim to please. :)

Obviously if you got the plugin installed, feel free to grab other soundtracks. They even got a torrent there so you can collect the whole set, and it's updated fairly regularly.

It's actually an error in the program - BlueShirt screwed up the names.

08.ogg and 10.ogg are mislabeled. What is actually "Nero's Stage" (08.ogg) is actually Midnight Park, and what is actually "Arcueid's Stage" (10.ogg) is actually Back Alley.

So to replace Nero's Stage, replace 10.ogg, not 08.ogg. 08.ogg will replace Midnight Park.

Again, I think that's BlueShirt's fault. :p

Hey Pulse, you have masses of old school game music right?  Do you happen to have the intro song for Ballz 3D?  I have had it stuck in my head all day, and I don't know why.
OI! YEAHHHHHHHHH! OI! YEAHHHHHHHHH UH HUH!

I actually owned that game on the Genesis. Does this make me awesome?

Anyway... Depends on what version you want. The plugins are Winamp compatible, but they should work in XMPlay too. Foobar can be done, but you'll need a different plugin or a Winamp plugin wrapper.

Sega Genesis version:

SNES version:

Installing them should be a snap if you're able to read. Then just run the files like any other song.

I'd argue the opposite, people IRL cover a wider spectrum than the people here. It's less obscure since the collective scope is smaller.
It's also less heard of, considering there's maybe... what, a handful dozen people here who post regularly?

"holy fuck this guy might be the second greatest guitarist ever, after that swedish guy yengy"
Sad fact is, I know exactly who you're talking about.

And no, I didn't have Opeth and Dream Theater. Plus I was in high school like... eight years ago so I did it before they took off, mostly.

"Mostly Unheard of" I can confidently say no one I know personally is aware of those groups.
Yeah, so the chances of me running into it on the internet should be smaller.

But you fuckers had to ruin it. :psyduck:

Too lazy to list everything, but lots of game music in various formats, one of which I even helped standardize.

Other than that, I listen to mostly "unheard of" stuff. If you really want to dive into some of the things I listen to, I strongly suggest you check out bands like Symphony X, Midnight Syndicate, and Yoji Biomehanika.

Yeah, it's doing dumb shit then. Java probably has to be run in administrator mode or something.

Set both java.exe and javaw.exe to run in administrator mode and that should work. If not, uninstall it, then download and reinstall it entirely.

I've said before, the two I'd want to see most in here would be SHIKI and Altrouge Brunestud.

And if they put Arihiko in:

1) It'd better be fucking funny
2) Nanako better be tagging along, and
3) If both of those aren't met I'm going to be pissed because nobody's going to ever seriously pick him, ever, meaning we wasted a slot that was more deserved by someone like SHIKI or Altrouge.

The only way the roster could really be expanded more is to dig down deep:

1) Shijyou Tsukasa. We got so many badass knife wielders; why not one who's horrible at it?
2) Yamase Maiko. AKA the girl Nero ate in the park. Sort of like a Mini-Nero Chaos, but with a few twists.

After that, though, we either have to dip down into normals, or else crossover territory.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say he's on Vista or Win7 then?

It's not a problem, as I've run the tool on both Vista and 7 (64 bit versions, at that) but Vista and Win7 tend to make shit like this harder to troubleshoot.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: The MBACPC Custom Music Topic

That's very odd then. I can just double click it and run it like a normal EXE.

On my computer, it opens with "Java(TM) platform SE binary." Since you said it didn't run with  javaw.exe, try running it with java.exe.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: The MBACPC Custom Music Topic

It runs fine for me when I double-click it.

Is Java properly installed on your computer?

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: The MBACPC Custom Music Topic

It will run like a normal EXE, actually, as long as your system has a Java Interpreter on it. (And it should.)

Use BlueShirt's tool. The old restrictions on Quality and size are removed with it, and it does the replacements and such automatically.

You do need to know your song's loop point though. Ideally up to four decimals, so as to minimize the "potential" error in looping, since according to BlueShirt, the game specifies loops in seconds, not in samples, and so there's no way to be 100% accurate.

So I'll be saving that one.

Don't worry Rowan, I'm about to put it back on.

1. Tohno Akiha

Oh come on. If you know me at all, you know this vote would be first. Why? Because in a lot of ways, Akiha is really the sort of person I think everyone would wish they have in their life, at some point or another. On the outside, rather bossy and sharp, but she uses this exterior to hide her pains, worries, and woes, and in the end, what she really wants is a very simple thing, yet it's generally denied to her. This, of course, doesn't even get into the problems she's had pushed onto her due to some other people, but in the end Akiha's a pretty simple person, in terms of what she actually wants - whether she gets that or not, is another matter entirely.

There's also the fact I've written a bloody story about her, but that's another tale for another time...

2. Kokutou Azaka

Take a good bit of Akiha, reduce the Ojou-sama quality, and turn up the attitude a fair bit more, and you mostly have Azaka. She's a hell of a hardworking person and she will be the sort of person who will fight tooth and claw for her friends. She's not the sort of type who would let people get hurt willingly, nor will she allow others to just do as they please if she thinks it's wrong. She also lives a more or less daily struggle due to her origin of "Taboo," which forces her to stray from the norms of society, and struggle with such conflicts that arise out of it, such has having a desire for her own brother. All in all, though, someone who may not be super-powerful, but who is very loyal.

3. Tohsaka Rin

An incredibly powerful magus for her time, and yet someone who is very much a self-sufficient woman and mostly raised herself since the age of six or seven. Forced to live two lives, in a way, due to her lineage, she almost never lets anyone get close to her and figure out her true abilities as a magus, because if they found that out it could be dangerous. She is a rare sort of person who tries to act like an Ojou-sama but fails rather miserably at it, being incredibly prone to dumb mistakes and constantly screwing up, but she is a very loyal, stubborn personality, and a very calculating mind, being highly effective in even the hairiest situations when given adequate time to prepare.

4. Yumizuka Satsuki

Sacchin. Everyone loves Sacchin. After Akiha, Sacchin is probably who I like second most out of the characters that actually have somewhat major roles in the plot of Tsukihime. (This may change if Choice #5 becomes a player, but we'll get to her next.) Sacchin is the sort of girl who really got very bad luck, but she's also the kind of person most people would like to have as a friend, someone who would make them feel nice and welcomed, and not being particularly mean or cruel to anybody. Probably the most popular "non-route" heroine (although I'm sure the Illya fans would disagree) so let's hope that the girl gets her route in the Tsukihime remake - and of course, considering all that happens to her, I'd say that she should at least get laid by the person who she wants to screw.

5. Altrouge Brunestud

I'll be honest... Altrouge absolutely intrigues the hell out of me. I have a hell of a lot of theories going on in my head about just who she is, what she stands for, and so on. I think there is a lot of the Black Princess that we really don't know about, hiding under that cold surface and veneer. The one thing I can say about her, is that there is definitely more to her than meets the eye, and of course, like all of Gaia's weapons, she is rather beautiful. The fact that she is half True Ancestor and half Dead Apostle means that her life is probably even more of a struggle than Akiha's - simultaneously having to deal with the fact that she is supposed to be protecting the planet and yet she is also dependent on humans for food, which would make a story with her very, very interesting, wouldn't you say?

6. Ryougi Mana

Probably a surprising choice, but Mana actually reminds me *A LOT* of how I was as a kid. Incredibly intelligent, well beyond her physical age. Well-read and loves to read. "Precocious" would be a good word to describe her. Mana is the sort of person who will not judge you for your appearance, your background, your past... none of that would matter very much to her. What would matter is your character, who you are and what you believe in. Despite this, she's not stupid, either - she'll be able to tell when you're trying to use her, and she'd get quite mad if treated just like a child. Clearly a case of someone having an old soul, a soul they feel is older than their physical body - something I can agree with, as to this day, I feel "mentally" 5-10 years older in terms of how I think of the world, as opposed to those in my age group.

It's a running thing from a few years back. You weren't on Melty Bread when that thread was going on. Basically, we were promised a Hisui doujin that never showed up, so a bunch of us repeat the "Where's our Hisui doijin?" specifically for Rowan.

Still waiting, btw.  :toot:

In hindsight, makes me realize I've been trolling around on this thread for years. I think thats an accomplishment.
Of Hisui getting raped by Kouma, if my memory serves.

Maybe I wasn't here, but I can look things up.

If not, I just woke up, so I will blame it on that.

....So, put the people who want to kill people the most and make them handle the social relations/cooking instead of chilling back?

 :slowpoke:
It could be worse. It could be Kohaku.

Or Hisui.
