if your on pad i'm assuming your probably gonna be using the built-in a+b shortcut

« on: April 17, 2008, 09:35:30 PM »
Yes Counter Hits do add more damage and stun(im pretty sure it adds more stun)

critical hits can help deal more damage so check that, and as you said if you have a reverse beat in your combo then that can drastically deal less damage. I'm not sure bout the reverse beat carrying over though

unless you have really fast fingers i really don't suggest using a+b to iad, if your going offense with iad, your probably gonna attack, so unless its a c attack your trying to do, you may get air countered/anti-aired

also if you mess up the a+b you may get punished(assuming your on stix)

tk means tiger knee dunno why its called tiger knee but it just is

the objective of a tk is to do a special attack in the air at the smallest jumping height
Please note that this only works for special attacks that are done in the air

to do this you just need to end with up at the end of the command

so as zaelar explained, to tk 236(assuming your character has a j.236) all you would have to do is 236 9/8/7 button
to tk 623 all you would have to do is 623 9/8/7 button
to tk 214 all you would have to do is 214 7/8/9 button

Please note that the timeing to press the button should be around the second you are in midair
and since this is meltyblood, you may get a super jump (2...9)
to make your life easier with some of the tks in meltyblood end with a 6 or 3 after the 9

111
eh did they put the blood back in melty

or is that fake too D8

well i was messing around and i figured that if you were to get a 214a onto a grounded person you best move would be 22c

i suppose if your opponent was more than a screen away and you get this in, you can do super jump>j.[c]>into combo
and if they are in a corner then whatever wall slam combo you have in mind

anyways that aside, what should you do when you get a 22c in from a screen away(edge of screen your opponent closest to corner)

East Coast.... this is your championship.

As of right now, I'm not sure whether we're gonna go with 1 day or 2 days, but I want to leave this all up to the players.

Costs

$10 per game

Venue fee- $10 per day. So if we do a one day event, $10. $20 for a two day event. This will be determined very shortly (ie. the next 2-3 days, so long as I get feedback).

Tentative Game List:

Street Fighter III: Third Strike (PS2)
Marvel v. Capcom 2 (DC)
Capcom v. SNK 2 (PS2)
Super Street Fighter II Turbo (DC)
Guilty Gear Accent Core (PS2)
Tekken 5: DR (PS3)
Virtua Fighter 5 (X360)

Let me know if you all want to do Brawl. We can do that too.

Address:

44710 Cape Court #118
Ashburn, VA 20147

HOTEL INFO FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED:

Embassy Suites Hotel Dulles-North/Loudoun, VA 3 star rating
44610 Waxpool Road, Dulles, VA Map

Ashburn, VA 20147
(703) 723-7500

0.9 miles from C3

So yeah... Let's do it.

EDIT-
OK...

I'm gonna be starting up a pre-reg list to see what we should run. I'm gonna update the first post also.

So here's the deal. We're gonna do this FR style.

Let me know your name, screen name, location, and what you're playing.

Games: Marvel, 3S, CvS2, ST, T5:DR, GGAC, Brawl, A2, A3, Arcana, Melty, VS

This isn't a guarantee that this will all get played. I want to see if we'd have the numbers for some of these games. For others, I just want to get a working list going so I can start with brackets before the actual date of the tournament.

eh what happened to all the commentating

bah, there needs to be a rule where there needs to be original in-game soundtrack, i don't care abut character select, or before a match, or the victory sound track, but god 2 tournaments already with ignorant soundtrack. It'd be nice if i didn't have to turn off the volume and listen to something else on winamp.

unless theres a really nice soundtrack that the majority can agree on

i buffer 623 immediately after i press b. the only problem of this is that i don't really check to see that my 5b activated or not, and its kinda hard to stop yourself from pressing the c

lol what did brandon say/do thats pissing everyone specifically

lol at hype trailer, gogo fucking waffles

gratz for brandon for winning his 2nd major, hes 2 for 2

gratz for choco winning his MM, as for the post that brandon made a long time ago about free money, IIRC that was before you guys added the extra rule of only stix, although brandon did beat you 5 games on stix a more accurate result of whos better is if brandon did get to use his pre-historic time pad

SCOOPS!!!

assign quick action to r2 or l2

disable the rest(they will be assigned to d-pad anyways when you stick quick onto l2 or r2)

problem solved

IIRC you can't use the macros anyways in tourney play, only the quick action one

quick will give you, grab macro, heat macro, and dodge macro
if you still need the dash/iad macro then assign it to the other shoulder button

EDIT: wait wtf you can't use ex, circle, triangle, or square????

-.- wow what drugs you on, cause i wanna get on some of that.

sega no longer sells gd-roms, that means ecole/TM/F-B must use roms to run it on naomi, roms don't have that much storage on them in general and if the game is too much, it will have to use two roms to run the game. two roms to run the game means your gonna have to pay more
