So I heard that east coast made a ranking list of MBAC players... is this info true? if so i would like to know who is on this list, and is it all of the U.S. or just east coast?You heard incorrectly, I made a "tier" list of all the SRM players that i have played ranking them based on the difficulty i had playing them. I mainly did it for fun though members could have used it as a vague idea of who they should look to play against but a certain pair of people just took it too seriously. It wasn't supposed to be serious, it was by no means accurate given the lag factors between people obviously but oh well if it wasn't one thing it was another.

I just worked with the owner, and he installed Melty Blood vA.
If people show up and play, I guarantee he will get version B2, which would cost him $800 more dollars.
The break has Happ P360 joysticks and Happ competition buttons on almost every game (Sanwa on Tekken 5: DR).
Games include SF3:3rd Strike, 2 MvC2's, T5:DR, all the newest dance games, Beatmania IIDX 13, and the new Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3!! 4 linked cabinets!

Don't automatically assume you'll do poorly, it's still a new game relatively speaking. I'm just learning it myself but I've been playing fighters longer than the others, so lately I've been winning more often than not despite not knowing a lot of tricks and character specific stuff. But the more people we have playing, the more we'll all learn.
In any case we're more laid back about winning/losing than some of the SF4 players we have in Buffalo. Most of them are really cool people though don't get me wrong, so if you play that as well there's a MUCH larger community to play with. But for Melty your best bet is gonna be Saturdays, I'll get Celestein to give you the details.

Double post, but I had an idea. Since NYC is a bother for people in NJ to go to and those around the tri-state area, I think if there was a small gathering or two held at NYC over the weekend this is being held, more people would be willing to go.
I think this is a good idea, but don't know who to try to push this idea with or who can even host a gathering, so I'm just shooting this idea out here. I think this can work for trying to revive the scene a little and get some hype, so let's try it yeah~?

I played MBAC a tiny bit on PC a few years ago and liked it a lot but couldn't ever find other people to play with (tried to get my friends into it but they all gave up)
I met Rokunaya at a video game club meeting yesterday and finally got to play MBAA. I really like and it I'd love to go out to more events and stuff, all I need is a ride :P and I sorta have to learn how to play the game too <_<
I also play SF and BBCS so I sorta have a grasp of the fundamentals of fighting games, if that means anything.

And for thebadhorrible news: The quality iskindaass. First 10-30sec of footage for just about every clip plays perfectly fine then framerate gets "clunky". The "blurring" is bad enough to the point where I don't even want to bother upping any matches to youtube :-\. If anyone can explain why this catastrophe consistently occurred (not enough ram?) and can provide some solutions to the problem, I would appreciate the informative post. Also, I was using WMM and EZCap for recording process if this helps to diagnose the problem. Kinda tired of producing low quality footage of what I feel to be high quality gameplay (for the most part).

I am so fucking down for having a gazeebo day-meet. Infact, I want to host a BBG before I goto Japan this summer, if that's okay with everyone. What steps did Jiyuna need to go through to license the place for the day?
It is worth it. BBG is the most hype experience ever known to man.
People aren't hype because they know how hard it is to setup and they like chairs. Though, if I managed a couple TV's and the revenue cost I bet we could get enough people together for it.

Roku & I have been scheming... I'm moving into my own place for a few months this summer (on 5/21), and I would totally be able to hold events. It's 4-5 blocks from the New Brunswick station. People would be able to stay over as the place is fairly large (about the size of a typical university owned apt) and there are restaurants near by as its very close to downtown New Brunswick.
Just throwing this out there/gauging interest.

Before I would be able to get together for anything I'd need to get a compatible PS2. I remember there being a soft mod for it, but I don't have the necessary adapters to transfer it to a memory card.

Before I start busting my ass organizing this, who would make the bi-weeklys/monthlies if I start, how much should the tourney be[no venue fee], what time and what days would be best?

I was JUST thinking why the Break doesn't have like Friday or weekend events of the sort, I'd SURE as hell would come & charge $7 ($5 for pot & $2 to the venue to at least show support).
As the guy who tried to run BB there before (this was back before console release so I was running it on the cab, cotty was godlike enough to let us use event mode on the cab which had auto free-play) I would strongly suggest that you run both. I can't say how much of the melty community will come out since I'm not that familiar with it but the only people you're gonna be getting for these things is people on the forums. At least if you run both you get SOME spill over which means at least more numbers in general. Most I ever got for BB there was 9 people, and all of them were from dustloop... So don't expect much in the way of new faces, but if you can get a decent amount of people to come out and play it's still worth doing. Obviously it's your call on BB/GG, as far as I know most of the people in jersey that play BB play MB so I can't see it being that bad a thing. Owner refuses venue. The support would be going to the arcade, enjoying it, playing off some of the cabs and buying the food [which is cheap as fuck and still good]
So don't worry about that. Oh, and for those that don't know, parking is free after 6pm. That and it's easy to find parking space as well.
P.S.: If I start wanting more #'s at these tournaments, I might run BB/GG on the side. Big maybe at the moment though.

Also make note that NYC can get to these pretty easily but have to take note of the last train.
Otherwise they'll have to book a room at the hotel down the way.
These tournaments are most likely going to be biweeklies at best so they're nothing you should seriously book a hotel for imo..
Fridays would be most convenient for me.
We're in it, guys. Friday is apparently a good day to do these, I'll run them a bit late at night and try to wrap them up early, which shouldn't be too tough.
I just need to get back to him regarding which Friday in particular, I'm currently trying to find one. First of October isn't looking good for me with exams, so it'll probably be the second week of October [which runs directly on CT's AnimeFest :<]
I can wait til the 3rd week of October, but I dunno. Which friday looks best for all of you?
