No, I'm pretty sure I'm the worst player on the site.
I don't actively play or practice but I'm still a player so I'm pretty sure that makes you better than me.

You really just have to put fourth the effort to be good instead of bitching about it.  Look at LordKnight and Nightroad, back in the day I rolled both of them and now they are leagues better than me, Its the perfect example of players who put in effort and players who don't.

I guess what I'm trying to say is put more time into it and you'll get better wasting time bitching will get you nowhere.

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: Will MBAA release in PC version?
« on: December 04, 2008, 11:57:26 PM »
In any case, were they to end up developing a PC port (which I'm cutting my fingers for, personally), the easiest console for them to do a port before- or afterward would be the 360, because it's basically a stripped down version of the Win32 kernel with less redundant system shit.

I thought XBox was the most complex among the console systems.
PS2 and PS3 are, Sony's OS's are always a pain to make games for.  360 is closer to a PC than PS2/PS3 are.

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: Nanaya modeling with 3DS MAX
« on: September 16, 2008, 03:45:50 AM »
And really Animeruko, Maya is only better for organic modelling.  Max is considered easier to use for inorganic shit, like architecture and such.  With that said, the differences aren't that huge.  I'd say it mostly comes down to personal preference in what program you're more comfortable with.
I started with 3DS but i ran into some odd issues with some stuff and switched over to Maya, since it wasnt retarded and did not mess up what i was doing lol.  we never did figure out why 3DS does what it did...

I really think Maya is easier to use but i suppose it really is just a prefrence thing.

Thats pretty cool.  I envy anyone who can do 3d modeling.

Use Maya, it makes life a whole lot easier.  Ive been trying to learn 3d so i can do an Akiha model along with various other Anime characters plus my friend wants me to help him wiht a CG gundam movie.

Lenneth... About your performance...
It is magnificent!
=>  My favorite quotes were
Lezard: "They say not to speak unkindly of the dead, so I say, 'Nice try.'"
Freya: "I AM FREYA!  Recall my name on your journey through Hell."

Oh that Freya...  Such a sassy little Aesir! <3

Original Content does not beat out a port "any day" Next-gen crap is still crap.

Examples:
Megaman X7 & X8
.hack//EVERYTHING
Phantasy Star Universe
Shining Force Anything-After-2

I hope you aren't implying that any next-gen game is crap.  I mean, yeah, there is a lot of shitty games out there.  There were even more shitty games for the old systems though, if you think back.  Judging the next gen of games as the generation is just getting started is hardly anything to go by.  Just looking at next gen RPGs, there are 3 new IPs that I know of that look extremely promising - Valkyria (ps3), Operation: Darkness (360), and Too Human (360).

I would rather see new original games than port after port of old games.  If I wanted to play old games, I'd go back and play the originals that I already own or emulate for free.  At least original content is something new and potentially interesting.  Even if a game is shit, it could spawn new and improved sequels, potentially introduce something innovative that can be taken and used in better games, or even just give other developers the balls to lay it on the line with a new IP they've been sitting on the back burner.  ANYTHING new is better than just the same old rehashed bs that I've already played to death, imo.  Ports and remakes and sequels without any progression are the kinds of things that stagnate the game industry.
Operation Darkness is BADASS even though all the reviewers say it sucks its definately a great game among people who like that sort of game.  Ive been playing it for a few days and i love it.

Well i guess i can understand that, But really since when was graphics what made a game good?  Im not denying i that i  like good grpahics because i love good looking games but atleast for RPG's story has been the main driving factor for me when playing them.  Its the reason ive been dissapointed with all games SE has released on the PS2 and most other games since the PS2 generation ... all flash no substance.  But in the end i guess everyone plays games for whatever reason.  I just hope games dont become all awe and no shock.

btw though it doesnt matter the PE first boss doesnt shoot "triangles" ... i dont recall any bosses shooting "triangles"  PE did use some nice texture effects.  I do however get the point you were trying to make.

My fave RPG's are the Xenosaga series, Valkyrie Profile series, Xenogears, Star Ocean 2 and alot of the Tales games not all but there is alot that i do like.  I dont like Chrono Trigger and Cross and most FF games. SE has been really lackluster since PS2 and really on Playstation the only games they really got right were PE1 and the FF games.

Star Ocean 2 was trash.
I missed this befor, I loved it, I  dumped loads of hours into that game lol. Now SO3 was trash, good but still trash so it was good trash.

Parasite Eve, seriously??? Even back then i thought the game was a gimmick. Music was nice tho.

A lot of you guys sound like PS1 owners, any Saturn owners? Panzer Dragoon Saga?
PE1 was a great game.  not sure what you mean by gimmick but its based on a really good japanese novel.  PE1 actually takes place after the PE movie/novel i think they even mention the happenings in the game.  I dunno if you didnt like it maybe that type of story isnt your thing but the game was good the combat system was pretty badass too back in the day.   It is possible that i hold PE in high regard since it was my first PS game(and only game for a whole year i played it like 400+ times lol) and the game that got me into gaming and RPG's, but its deffinately a classic atleast in my book. I REALLLY like the story of PE, They go into some intresting concepts about Mitochondria.  I dunno definately a great story, I still think it would be intresting to see some tests done on that . . . with people and not insects.

now PE2 was crap they ruined a good game trying to copy the RE series.

They must all hate it. I just point it out cuz they sadly make the accident of people like me, having to tell people like them, that it does. Stubborness.   :-\
LOL.

I dunno im rather fond of the anime myself so i dont really get why people dont like it.  It really was a great series even if it didnt follow the game.  Anime shouldnt have to follow the original story(Manga/VN/ect) i think its even more intresting when they have their own story arc, so its not like your just watching the same story again.  I think this is actually the reason many stories are changed when they are turned into anime form, for some reason people think it wactually HAS to follow the original.  :-\

Ill definately have to agree that Klite is prettymuch the best one out there.  its been looked down uppon becuse it uses many different decoders but lately theve been doing most of the decoding with ffdshow so its really good now. (not that i ever had problems with it befor O_o)  CCCP is nice too but Klite is updated more frequently and allways has the latest builds in the new release.

Its the only codec pack i use and i primarily only watch MKV's, ive had no issues.

I'd be past LV3  lol but it was overtime and it was mostly on Harddrives, Gotta have safe storage for my music and anime and nothing beats a good RAID 6 setup. X_X a good RAID controler costs more than a "lv2" system X_X

Workstation Graphics cards cost more than lv3 systems but i guess a pc designed for that would fall under "for job"  even if you do it for a hobby.

You mean you didn't follow the shit-ton DvD strat with them labeled disk 1,2,3,4... then crypic abrivations on them, and on your computer have a giant text file that has a description of whats on every disk.

Im starting to this only have like 1TB so far, small in comparision to my one friends 14TB of anime wtf, I didn't know there were over 60 animes that started with the letter A.
Nahhhh lol i like to be organized. Anime is burned and labled by Series name and on HDD they are split up between 4 completed anime folders and one incomplete anime folder.  There are LOADS of anime series out there lol you should check out ANN sometimes, thats actualy what i do when im looking for something new.  i definately have to reorganize it ive updated some series with HD verions and and also bought some DVD's for some so those fansubs gotta be tossed and replaced with my own rips.

I think you might want to learn what the kid wants to do with his computer before argueing about whats best for him. buying a 300$ computer seems better if hes gonna fap to porn on it and play melty blood until he can afford something thatll run crysis 2.
If thats all he wants to do theres no real reason for him to buy more than a videocard.  Admittenly i have gone off topic  :-\

Crysis 2 lol . . .   :'(

Nehalem will not only be highend but its not.  I bet by Q3 09 Intel will have the market oversaturated with variants too much like the C2D market is now.  Im pretty sure by 2010 intel will be pushing their 32nm verions of nehalem and the prices will be even better. In the end its still more logical to wait for the new architecture which has been my point.
