Northern California aka GET DAT MONEY SON!
« on: March 05, 2007, 03:33:35 PM »
Any MBAC players in NorCal I don't already know? Anyone want to learn the game? The NorCal thread on Dustloop (http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122) has some MB players too. We meet at Diablo Valley College near Walnut Creek on Wednesdays from 8AM-4PM or so and play MBAC, GGXX/, KoFXI, SCIII, etc. The usuals are myself, Yar1030, Sims, Lain102300, and some other people I'm still teaching the game to. I have MB tournaments/gatherings whenever I have Slash tournies/gatherings at my house in Redwood City (20 miles or so South of San Francisco), usually 1-2 times a month. Keep an eye out on Dustloop NorCal and Event Announcement threads, though I'll try to crosspost here too.

The initial post is pretty outdated. Currently, the NorCal MB scene South of Sacramento more or less revolves around San Jose, with most large gatherings taking place at San Jose State University. If you want to get involved just post with your location and availability and we'll see what's up.

There is also still a smaller MB scene at Diablo Valley College near Walnut Creek. yar1030 is more or less the head of that so talk to him if you're in that area, or just drop in on the DVC rec room on a week day and bust some heads.

Ugh, bad time for Norcal MBAC. Alt's pretty much given up on it and I just left Berkeley for the summer. I guess Magz, Mizuki, and Dakanya are the only real representatives now. Good luck!

Alt can't quit. Not for long. MBAC PC is almost here. No one can refuse that.

30 minutes from SJ... Depending on the actual date, I might be able to drag some people over there.

I probably won't show up until I get my stick and learn how to play on it. I still use a keyboard.

Well that might be true but personally I'm happy just to find out that there's a box in my local area. Hell for a while there I thought the only chance I would get to play an arcade version would be to go down to SoCal...

I work till 6 so Feasibly I would end up arriving around 7:30-8:00 which I sure is a bit on the late side. Though if you plan to keep it going late into the night I'll definitely stop by.
